Kick’n Country Parade Rules and Regulations
To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding Parade Day experience for both participants and spectators, the Camrose & District Chamber of Commerce, in consultation with the Parade Committee, has established the following rules and regulations. All entries must review, understand, and comply with these rules.
Parade Oversight
Parade Committee members will be identifiable on the day of the parade by their use of golf carts and will be monitoring entries for safety and compliance.
The parade route is approximately 1.2 kilometers long and takes about 1 hour to complete.
1. General Rules
Constant forward motion must be maintained. No stopping for performances or stunts that interrupt the parade’s flow.
- Maintain a safe distance (3–5 feet) from the curb at all times.
- Absolutely no risky activities (e.g., stunts, maneuvers, or any activity that could pose a risk of injury) will be permitted.
- The Parade Committee reserves the right to remove any entry at any time due to:
- Safety concerns
- Interference with parade progress
- Any other reasonable cause
- Non-compliance may result in a one-year suspension.
2. Candy & Item Distribution – IMPORTANT RULE
🚫 NO CANDY MAY BE THROWN FROM FLOATS, WALKERS OR VEHICLES. Candy must be handed to the spectators, and not thrown, including on the roadway in front of spectators! This is very much a safety issue we will not compromise on.
- Candy or small items may only be handed directly to spectators by individuals walking at the edge of the crowd. If you are bringing candy or other items to hand out, make sure you have a supply in a wagon or something with the walkers that are handing out so they are not stopping the parade to refill. The parade MUST keep moving, and MUST be paced, to not create large gaps, but also not to have particiants too closely following the participant in front of them.
- Throwing items creates serious safety risks and may result in:
- Immediate removal from the parade
- Suspension from future participation
- This rule will be strictly enforced.
