  • Both programmes are delivered by multi award-winning theatre writer/director – Mark Jones who has over 40 years’ experience of theatre and has written over 20 plays and directed more than 30 full length productions.

    ‘Acting Skills Programme’ - open to anyone of any age (but must be 16+) and any ability - no previous experience required. No auditions to attend - places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Each workshop last 1.5 hours and costs £10 per workshop, which must be paid one month in advance of each month. The sessions are delivered on a Saturday morning (9.30-11 or 11.30-1pm) in the main theatre at Chorley Theatre. This programme runs from September 2026 to July 2027 - with breaks at Christmas and Easter. It will offer you the opportunity to develop your acting skills and to build confidence. You will be introduced to the ‘evolve’ acting method; will learn about human behaviours (NLP, Transactional Analysis) and will develop skills to build a character through voice (pace, pitch, projection), and body language (gestures, movement). There will be intensive group work and 1-2-1 coaching. During the programme you will act in a radio show, a short film and will end the programme performing a monologue and duologue to an invited audience. The full curriculum can be found HERE.     ‘Performance Programme’ - Sep 26 to Jan 27

    This programme gives students the opportunity to work on an original script specifically written for the group. You will rehearse the play and perform it over four nights on stage in front of a paying audience in Chorley Theatre’s Studio.
