Juntos Seguimos Avanzando Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

1. School Enrollment

• Must be a high school senior attending South Gate High School.
• This scholarship is open to undocumented students.

2. Academic Requirements

• No GPA requirement.

3. Post-Secondary Plans

• Must plan to attend a technical school, 2-year college, or 4-year college in the Fall of 2026.
• Proof of college acceptance is required. Acceptable forms include:
  • A photo of your acceptance email or letter.
  • A screenshot from your school portal showing acceptance.
• If you have not yet received acceptance letters, you may still submit your application. Please email your acceptance letter(s) to VNAScholarship@gmail.com once received.
• Applicants who fail to submit proof of acceptance by the deadline will be marked incomplete.

4. Application Deadline

• All applications must be submitted by Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

5. Notification

Winner will be announced the week of May 10, 2026.

Essay/ Video Prompts Instructions

Please respond to both of the following prompts.For each prompt, you may choose one of the following formats:

Option 1: Written Response

• Maximum of 500 words per response.
• Responses should be thoughtful, well-organized, and clearly address the prompt.

Option 2: Video Response

• 2–3 minutes per response.
• You are encouraged to be authentic and creative in your presentation.
• Please ensure your video is clear and easy to hear.

Prompt 1: What is one issue in your community that you feel personally connected to, and why? Describe the change you want to be part of, and how your education will help you contribute to that change—whether through advocacy, innovation, leadership, or service.

Prompt 2. Many students face unique challenges in their path to higher education. Think about a moment when you had to overcome a significant obstacle or make a tough decision. What did you learn about yourself, and how will that lesson shape your approach to future opportunities and setbacks?

*Please note that your application will be considered "incomplete" until ALL responses and supporting documentation are complete and provided.

All information collected will be kept confidential by the 'Juntos Seguimos Avanzando' Scholarship. Data will only be used for reporting and evaluation purposes of the program.
