  • National Grand Rounds (NGR) Proposal Form

    2026-27 season
  • CAEP is seeking proposals for the 2026-27 National Grand Rounds (NGR) season.  Submission deadline: April 12, 2026.

The NGR season is accredited through both college streams by CAEP and therefore require a minimum of 25% interactivity. While this is typically achieved through live Q&A, we strongly encourage presenters to incorporate additional interactive elements, such as polling, to further enhance the audience experience.

Each NGR session will be scheduled for one hour, with a consistent day of the week and time maintained throughout the year. Recordings will be made available to all CAEP members.

As a CAEP member benefit, free access to the NGR will be limited to CAEP members. Non-members will have the option to access individual NGR sessions for a fee.

Based on feedback from previous NGR sessions, we are looking for content in the following topics:

    1. Toxicology & Overdose Management – Updates on drug overdoses, acetaminophen/ASA toxicity, sedation, and emerging ED therapies.
    2. Geriatric Emergency Medicine – Delirium, falls, trauma, ageism, and care best practices for older adults.
    3. Resuscitation & Critical Care – Life-saving strategies, unstable arrhythmias, sepsis, and acute critical care in ED settings.
    4. Pediatric Emergencies – Febrile children, DKA, orthopedic emergencies, and trauma/non-trauma presentations.
    5. Practical ED Skills & Procedures – Wound care, dislocations, chest tubes, paracentesis, POCUS, and specialty emergencies.
    6. ED Flow & Systems Challenges – Overcrowding, boarding, LWBS patients, follow-up of results, and frequent ED users.
    7. Wellness & Career Sustainability – Work-life integration, mental health, burnout, moral distress, teaching, and professional growth.
