  • Second skin aftercare instructions

Please follow these if you choose to have a second skin wrap leaving the studio
  • Second skin is a thin transparent sticker-like film that will be placed over the tattoo, It is a better option for those who are a little lazy with aftercare (me included)

Please disclose any allergies to adhesives prior to your appointment as second skin is not suitible for those with sensitivities to adhesives. (A patch test can be carried out if you have never used second skin before)

    First 5 days-

Please leave the second skin alone! Thats right! You dont need to do anything for up to 5 days.

Second skin can be left on for up to five days but do not leave it on for any longer than this time.

You may shower with the second skin but do not soak in a bath or pool. If the wrap begins to lift and any of the tattoo becomes exposed, please remove and follow the above instructions instead.

    REMOVAL-

To remove your second skin, run the area under warm water to warm the adhesive. Peel a corner up and pull gently, streching the second skin toward your fingers. (DON'T RIP LIKE A BAND AID) The adhesive is very strong and taking it off any other way may feel sore!

    After removal-

Once removed clean the tattoo with warm water and moisturise as normal.

The tatoo will leak plasma under the second skin (This is totally normal). It may appear 'inky' under the second skin but avoid touching it as it may begin to peel up.
