Narcan Training

Registration Requirements: This class is open to non-members and GCGC members.

Class Prerequisite: None

Class Requirements: Prior to class, participants will need to complete a 10-minute module and obtain a completion certificate that will be given to the instructor (either print out or email to gcgc.instructor@gmail.com) at the beginning of class. You can complete the module here.

Class Location: Class location will be provided upon registration confirmation.

Class Fee: $10.00

1. Description of Medical and Harm-Reduction Training Activities

I understand that I am voluntarily participating in a medical and harm-reduction education class, which may include instruction, discussion, demonstrations, and hands-on practice related to overdose recognition, emergency response, naloxone (Narcan) administration using training devices, and related preparedness activities.

2. Educational Nature of Training and Simulated Exercises

I understand that this training is educational and may involve simulated scenarios, role-playing, or physical demonstrations.

3. Acknowledgment of Inherent Risks

I acknowledge that participation in medical and harm-reduction education involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Physical discomfort or minor injury during demonstrations or practice
• Emotional distress related to discussion of overdose, substance use, or emergency scenarios
• Aggravation of pre-existing physical or mental health conditions
• Allergic or adverse reactions to training materials or simulated substances

4. Assumption of Risk

I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, arising from my participation.

5. No Medical Diagnosis or Treatment

I understand that this class is educational in nature only and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or individualized medical advice.

6. Instructor Role and Naloxone Use Disclaimer

I acknowledge that instructors and facilitators are not acting as my healthcare providers. I understand that naloxone administration in real-world situations should be performed in accordance with local laws, manufacturer instructions, and emergency services guidance.

7. Release and Waiver of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Organization, its directors, officers, instructors, facilitators, volunteers, agents, partners, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation, including but not limited to:

• Personal injury
• Emotional distress
• Illness or medical complications
• Property damage

Whether caused by negligence or otherwise, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

8. Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organization from any loss, liability, damage, or cost, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising from my participation or from claims brought by me or on my behalf.

9. Voluntary Participation and Conduct Expectations

I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I may withdraw at any time. I agree to follow all instructions, safety guidance, and respectful conduct expectations. Failure to do so may result in removal from the class without refund.

10. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which the training is held.

I grant permission to Gallatin Community Gun Club (GCGC) to photograph or record me during this class for educational, promotional, or informational purposes.

I understand that these images or recordings may be used in print, on the GCGC website, social media, marketing materials, or other communications without compensation.

I acknowledge that my participation is voluntary and that I may request not to be photographed or recorded by notifying instructors or staff prior to or during the event.

I release Gallatin Community Gun Club, its officers, instructors, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims related to the use of these images or recordings.
