KUUMBA EFFECT for Middle and High School Participants. Location is Open.
YOUTH will participate in early planning as part of a small working group focused on the Fairwood commercial area. *CURRENT*
The purpose of the group is to learn about challenges and opportunities in this area, and to (1) create a shared vision for Fairwood’s commercial area, (2) reflect community values and priorities in County planning efforts, and (3) encourage better urban design that helps guide future development.
YOUTH will inform, implement, observe, and evaluate outreach efforts by their local government and give direct feedback and participate in decision-making during design. *ONGOING*
We support community members of all ages as they engage with their local, regional, and global worlds in ways that leave them more beautiful and beneficial than they inherited. We encourage formal and informal processes that lead to improving our world, one community project, innovation, and invention at a time.
The KUUMBA EFFECT program team will accommodate any academic, extra-curricular, or family commitments throughout this process
TOTAL TIME COMMITMENT IS 10-20 HOURS.
