Noxious Weed Identification & Management Plan
- Identify state-listed noxious weeds
- Receive management recommendations, including prevention, control options, and long-term strategies
Rangeland Health Assessment
- Rangeland: unirrigated areas dominated by native grasses, forbs and shrubs that provides forage for grazing livestock or wildlife
- Evaluate overall rangeland condition using indicators such as plant community composition, ground cover, and signs of erosion
Irrigated & Dryland Pasture Assessments
- Pasure: irrigated or unirrigated areas that have been seeded with specific forage species and are managed by grazing or haying
- Assess pasture productivity, condition, forage species composition, and management practices
- Recommendations to improve forage health, production and resilience
Grazing Management Plan
- Develop a customized grazing plan that considers stocking rates, timing, rotation, rest periods, and pasture goals to support livestock performance and long-term land health
Soil Assessment
- In-field
- Soil Moisture, pH, salt content, compaction
- In-lab (lab tests perfomed by Ward Labs)
- Organic matter, pH, salt, macro and micro nutrients, sum of cations, texture by hydrometer, permanganate active labile carbon (POX-C)
- Soil testing currently covered by CDA Soil Health grant, fees may apply in the future
Forage Nitrate Testing
- Get hay or pasture tested for nitrate levels using test strips
Forage Quality Testing - Lab Fees Apply
- Forage samples can be submitted to Ward Lab for further forage quality testing.
- You will be invoiced for the price of the test and shipping.
