  • Noted below is the student leadership agreement for all OMD student organizations:

    ● In order to serve on a student leadership team, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 AND cannot be on chapel, academic, or disciplinary probation. By signing and dating below you are stating that you meet these requirements and give permission to the Registrar’s Office and Student Development to release this information to the Office of Multicultural Development staff for verification purposes.

    ● My primary responsibility is being a student and I am expected to attend classes, chapel, and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

    ● I have taken time to thoroughly read the Wheaton College Community Covenant and the Christ-Centered Diversity Commitment. I will support and completely adhere to these commitments.

    ●  If I am placed on any type of probation, I will inform the OMD Director. I recognize that being on any type of probation during the academic year which I am serving could disqualify me from serving as a student leader.

    ●  I have read the OMD and Student Development Purpose Statements located at http://www2.wheaton.edu/Registrar/catalog/ug_student_life.htm#Student_Development. I will unite to serve within these purposes.

    ●  My commitment to serve as a student leader is for a full academic year.

    ●  There is an importance of maintaining open communication with the OMD Director. If I have areas of concern, I understand that I can obtain encouragement and resources from the OMD Director during my time of service. 

    ● My attendance is required at the OMD Spring Banquet on Saturday, May 2, 2026, 6:00pm to 8:00pm. I will attend this on-campus event.

    ● I commit to attend the IGNITE reception meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 (Phelps, 3:45pm to 5:15pm).

    ● The OMD Student Leadership Training is scheduled for Aug 17 through Aug 22, 2026. I will be attend this required Training. The approved student arrival is Sunday, Aug 16th from 2pm to 5pm. I will attend the OMD Student Leadership Training kick off dinner on Sunday, August 16th, 6pm, Phelps.

                 
    ● If I am a cabinet president, I will establish and attend a monthly meeting with the OMD Director throughout the academic year.  I also understand that I will be required to participate in OMD Presidents’ Forums (Synergy) which will be scheduled once a month throughout the academic year.

    ● To maintain a healthy balance, this specific leadership position within OMD will be my primary co-curricular commitment. If I would like to participate in other leadership positions, I must obtain approval from the OMD Director.

    ● During the academic year there will be monthly OMD IGNITE student leadership meetings. As part of a cabinet, I plan to faithfully attend these monthly Ignite meetings.

    ● Throughout the year, OMD will be hosting various campus events. I understand that I am required to help out with these events.

    I accept the responsibilities noted above and I am fully committed to uphold this standard that has been set before me.

    Job Descriptions & Responsibilities
  • KOINONIA MISSION STATEMENT:
    As a Gospel-empowered fellowship, Koinonia seeks to glorify Christ by caring, serving, discipling and advocating for Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islanders (AAPI) students on campus, while also committing to supporting the voices of other marginalized racial and ethnic groups

  • Application Process:

    2. A 30 minute interview with the current and incoming Koinonia President. You will be notified via email with more details. Interviews may be virtual or in-person.

  • Administrative Coordinator

    Role Description:

    The role of the Administrative Coordinator is to provide logistical support to the cabinet by performing clerical functions and by managing Koinonia’s finances and organization. The Administrative Coordinator is also responsible for managing its archives and updating our historical projects.

     

    Responsibilities:

    - Reports directly to the President on cabinet-related responsibilities
    - Budgeting expenses with the aid and supervision of the OMD Staff, Ms. HeeJung 
    - Manages the Koinonia-issued credit card and account’s expense reports/account, facilitate fundraising efforts, and provide regular updates to the cabinet on Koinonia’s budget
    -  Assist the President with the following duties: updating the working calendar, detailed note taking during the weekly meetings, and updating the supply inventory 


    Expectations and Qualifications:

    - Is diligent to ensure all their responsibilities are completed on a timely basis
    - Is organized and attentive to detail
    - Has exceptional note taking skills
    - Has proficiency with Google Drive, Calendar and other apps
    - Has experience with budgeting and navigating organizational structures

  • Events Coordinator

    Role Description:

    The role of the Event Coordinator is to lead the planning and production of Koinonia’s events with the PR Coordinator. The Event Coordinator aims to foster a relational community for Koinonia through producing events that cater to the needs of Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students and educate them on themes of racial/ethnic identity, community, and justice, as well as engaging non-Asian students in fellowship with Koinonia.

    Responsibilities:

    - Reports directly to the President on cabinet-related responsibilities
    - Works alongside the PR Coordinator/s to plan and advertise events in a timely manner
    - Assists in planning out a timeline of Koinonia’s events with the President and reaching out to other cabinets/speakers as necessary for events
    - Communicates effectively with the cabinet and associated event organizers 
    - Serve as the moderator during Koinonia events


    Expectations and Qualifications:

    - Is thorough with event logistics and creative with event planning
    - Has experience with planning and executing events
    - Good public speaking skills 

  • Public Relations (PR) Coordinator

    Role Description:

    The role of the Public Relations (PR) Coordinator is to manage Koinonia’s PR Team and its job of publicizing Koinonia’s events and updates to Koinonia’s community and the broader campus. The PR Coordinator will work alongside the Event Coordinator to plan and produce Koinonia’s events. This position will require extra time outside of cabinet meetings to finish projects.

    Responsibilities:

    - Reports directly to the President on cabinet-related responsibilities
    - Communicates with Koinonia’s community through weekly emails and social media engagements
    - Produces physical and digital advertising, videography, merchandise, and decorations
    - Manages Koinonia’s official website, social media accounts, and media archives


    Expectations and Qualifications:

    - Is creative with publicity tasks and passionate about art/design
    - Is responsible for making and meeting deadlines
    - Has effective communication and social media skills
    - Has experience with graphic design software/apps (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)

     

    Note: PR Coordinator can be split into Graphics Design/Social Media Manager team if you only have the skills for one or the other. 

     

  • Family Groups (FG) Coordinator

    Role Description:

    The role of the Family Group Coordinator is assisting the Family Group Director in fostering Koinonia’s community through leading and supporting Koinonia’s Family Groups. The Family Group Coordinator will be tasked with coordinating the recruitment and training of Family Group Leaders under the direction and leadership of the Family Group Director.

    Responsibilities:

    - Reports directly to the President on cabinet-related responsibilities
    - Reports to and assists the FG Director with recruitment and programming for Koinonia Family Group, and continuing to support and keep in contact with FG leaders during the school year.
    - Listens to and meets the needs of Family Groups as a ministry and as a ministry team
    - Coordinates Koinonia Large Group/Fellowship gatherings of all of Koinonia’s Family Groups
    - Ensure and oversee the budget of FG Leaders


    Expectations and Qualifications:

    - Is passionate about fellowshipping with Koinonia’s Community
    - Is knowledgeable about principles of Christian ministry
    - Is familiar with and comfortable in Asian/Asian-American Pacific Islander community
    - Has prior experience with Family Group and/or small-group contexts

  • Chaplain

    Role Description:

    The role of the Chaplain is to serve Koinonia’s cabinet and community through spiritual servant-leadership.The Chaplain is passionate to foster a God-glorifying community through fellowship, prayer, and worship events. Koinonia’s Chaplain will also serve alongside fellow OMD and student chaplains.

    Responsibilities:

    - Assists the FG Director and FG Coordinator with programming for devotional and bible studies for Koinonia Family Group
    - Supports the cabinet and its leadership through prayer, encouragement, and service
    - Fosters the spiritual, relational, and emotional wellbeing of Koinonia’s community
    - Collaborate with the chaplains from other student organizations
    - Invites the Wheaton’s Asian Heritage Month chapel chapel speaker, plan the service, and manages the chapel band


    Expectations and Qualifications:

    - Is spiritually mature and healthy
    - Has integrity, conscientiousness, and a heart for spiritual hospitality and growth
    - Has experience with organizing worship services
