Volunteer Behavior & Electronics Policy

To help ensure a safe, respectful, and positive camp environment, all volunteers are expected to follow the policies below.

Behavior Expectations

I will treat campers, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect at all times.
I will follow instructions from camp leadership immediately and without argument.
I will remain with my assigned group and will never be alone with a camper.
I will use appropriate language and behavior at all times.
I understand that bullying, rough play, inappropriate language, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
I understand that failure to follow these expectations may result in dismissal from volunteering.
No Phone / Electronics Policy

Personal phones, smart watches, earbuds, and other electronics must remain put away during camp hours.
Phones may only be used with permission from a staff member (for emergencies or staff-related needs).
Volunteers are not permitted to take photos or videos of campers at any time.
Use of social media during camp hours is not allowed.
Repeated or serious violations of this policy may result in dismissal from volunteering.

Volunteer Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

I understand that volunteering at Providence Hill Academy Summer Camp takes place on a ranch and outdoor property and may involve inherent risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, uneven ground, outdoor terrain, weather conditions, heat exposure, insects, wildlife, physical activity, equipment, structures, and other normal ranch and camp-related activities.

I voluntarily choose to participate as a volunteer and assume full responsibility for any risks of injury, illness, accident, or loss of personal property that may occur during my participation.

I agree to follow all camp rules, safety guidelines, and instructions given by camp leadership and staff at all times. I understand that failure to follow safety instructions may increase the risk of injury.

I hereby release, waive, and hold harmless Providence Hill Academy, PHA Summer Camp, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, property owners, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, or liability arising from participation as a volunteer, except where prohibited by law.

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Providence Hill Academy staff to obtain medical treatment as deemed necessary. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred.
