  • Glaister Lecture 2026: What Walks Through the Door: A GP’s View of Caring for Individuals and Society in Challenging Times.

    11am-1pm, Sunday 10th May 2026
  • About the event:

The Braziers Glaister Lecture 2026 is our annual public lecture, inviting a guest speaker to explore themes and questions relevant to our community and the wider political, social, and environmental moment we are living in. The lecture offers an opportunity to engage with ideas, meet the Braziers community, and take part in shared reflection and discussion. The event is followed by an optional homemade lunch, offering time for informal conversation and connection. This is a free event, but booking is essential. Optional lunch is available.

    About this year's speaker:

Dr Lisa Silver is one of Oxfordshire’s longest-serving GPs, whose work sits at the intersection of individual lives and wider social change. Over decades, she has listened to what people bring when there is nowhere else to take it, offering care while quietly witnessing the shifting patterns of loneliness, stress, resilience and connection in modern life. Through the lens of her consulting room, she offers a powerful and deeply human perspective on caring for individuals and society in challenging times.
