A Photography Juried Exhibit at Lawrence Street Gallery

Lawrence Street Gallery's Annual Exposures Photography Show is back again.  This open photography show is a staple of our gallery and a longstanding Spring tradition.  So many stories are unlocked through the photographs in this exhibition at Lawrence Street Gallery in April. The work in this show will stretch the viewer’s imagination and memory of what we see and what we really see.

The juror for the show will be Christopher Schneider

Christopher Schneider is an artist, curator, gallery director, college photography professor, and business owner. He is the founder of Hatch Art, a non-profit art organization now in its 20th year. As an artist, he has been in hundreds of shows as far away as Shanghai, China, and recently in a solo show at Central Michigan University.

Your $35 entrance fee entitles you to consideration for entry to this show.  If accepted, the pieces in the exhibit will also be available on the gallery’s website for viewing and purchasing!

• March 15th: Accepted artists and work sent via email to all (estimate). 

• Friday March 27, Saturday March 28: Drop off accepted work during Gallery Hours.  Pick up some postcards to hand out!

•  April 1-24: Show Dates

•  Saturday , April 4th: Opening Reception 2:00 to 4:30 pm.  Awards at 3:00 pm.

• Sunday, April 19th Mid-Month Reception 2 – 4:30 p.m. People’s Choice Award and Poetry Event at 3:00 p.m. free parking in Ferndale on Sundays. 

• Saturday, April 25th - Pick up Unsold work 12 – 5 pm. 

The monetary awards will be determined in person after the show has been hung and announced at the Opening Reception. 

• Best in Show $150
• 2nd Place $100
• Honorable Mentions $25 

A People's Choice Award ($75) will also be awarded based on the highest number of visitor votes received between the Opening Reception and the Mid-Month Reception, and will be announced at the Mid-Month Reception.

Rules for this competition:

• PLEASE CONSIDER CAREFULLY what you enter in the form below. Changes (Title, Medium, Size, and Price) will not be accepted after the entry is submitted. Many hands depend on accurate information being provided now, and changes can be difficult to guarantee.  
• Applications and images must be submitted online by 11:30 p.m. on March 6, 2026.  We encourage you to enter early! 
• You may enter once. Up to two pieces may be submitted with a $35 Entry Fee.  
• All entries must be for sale and have not yet been exhibited at Lawrence Street Gallery.   Prices will be at the sale price indicated on the entry form.  The Lawrence St. Gallery will take a 30% commission on all sales.
• Artists or buyers may not remove work from the exhibit before the end of the exhibit.
  
• Accepted work must be brought to the Lawrence St. Gallery before 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026. We cannot accept shipments of artwork and, therefore, require in-person delivery and return of accepted artwork.  
• All work must be ready for exhibit and appropriately wired for hanging.  Art can be no larger than 40" wide - INCLUDING THE FRAME- or weigh more than 50 lbs.
  Due to problems in the past, we cannot accept glass coverings- please use plexiglass in frames only! 
• Online Submissions must be no larger than 1200 pixels on the longest side and have a resolution of 72 dpi. The file size for each picture submitted must be no larger than 2 Mb. Please try to name your images LastnameFirstName_NameofPiece.jpg (or .png) to assist in file handling before uploading your photos. 
• The Lawrence St. Gallery will exercise professional care in handling all entries. Still, we cannot assume liability for loss or damage caused while works are in the gallery’s possession or transit.
• All work is not picked up within 30 days of the pick-up date of Saturday. April 25th will become the property of the gallery. If the artist cannot claim unsold artwork on this pick-up date, arrangements must be made for another person to pick up the work. The Gallery must be notified if such alternative pick-up arrangements have been made.
• Artists whose work is exhibited in this show give Lawrence Street Gallery permission to use submitted images for promotion and display for sale on our website.
• Personal information such as address, email, and phone numbers will not be communicated to anyone without permission. If that is the case, the gallery will give the artist the contact info of the person asking to contact the artist.
