Expression of Interest VYLC 2026

 

The two-week language and culture intensive program will be running in Term 3, 2026 from the 24th of August to the 4th of September 2026.

Please complete this form by the 2nd of April to express your school's interest in being selected to participate in the program in 2026.

Selection Criteria:

• The school offers Chinese Second Language Programs.
• The school is able to recruit up to ten (10) Year 9 and 10 students per school who have successfully completed Year 7 and 8 Chinese (Mandarin) program to a satisfactory level, in previous years.
• The school is able to support all school level resourcing requirements of the program including assigning a VYL China Program Administrator and Supervising Teacher.
• Attend and be responsible for all your students if they attend the excursion to China Town, Melbourne.

The role of the Supervising teacher will include:
- Liaising with the coordinating teachers to ensure expectations are understood and carried out.
- Directly and actively supervise students in an allocated virtual class for the full 10-day program and provide support to students when needed. (If needed the Department can reimburse CRT costs for the program.)
- Provide real-time feedback to Meg Languages, on request.
Please note that the Supervising Teacher may be different to the nominated point-of-contact teacher overseeing program coordination at the school level.

Is the school able to assign a member of staff who will be the first point of contact (the nominated VYL China Administrator) to liaise with Meg Languages on administration and communication required for this program?
