  • Greggory Tingle Memorial Scholarship

    The Greggory Tingle Memorial Scholarship is established to honor the legacy of Greggory Tingle, a beloved member of the Shelby County community whose life exemplified determination, joy and love for others. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who embodies the qualities that defined Gregg’s exceptional character, commitment to his faith, and spirit of service to others. The Greggory Tingle Memorial Scholarship was formulated to honor the joy Gregg found in life during times of sickness and struggle. This scholarship will be awarded to a senior who exemplifies a passion for work beyond high school in a specific trade, is upstanding in their academics, and is a Christian model for those around them.  A dream of Gregg’s after receiving his stem cell transplant was to make a career out of woodworking. He understood that when God gave you a specific talent, it was meant to be used for His glory.  
  • Award Amount: $2,500

    Eligibility: Open to graduating high school seniors that live in Shelby County who plan to pursue a certificate/ license in a trade.

    Due By: May 12th, 2025

    Criteria for Selection: Applicants will be evaluated based on how they reflect Gregg's values and life:

    • Academic efforts: Work ethic that shows the appreciation of being given the opportunity to learn and achieve. -
    • Determination: Student must show that they are willing to overcome challenges in a positive fashion.
    • Love for others: Volunteer work through local church or youth sports.

    Through this scholarship, Shelby County Community Charity aims to keep Gregg’s memory alive by empowering a student who shares his kindness, love for the outdoors, and determination. The information provided on this form will be used by the Shelby County Community Charity Scholarship Committee to select one recipient. It is important that you give complete details concerning your college/career plans, activities, and financial information.
