  • Josh David Early Memorial Scholarship

    The Joshua Early Memorial Scholarship is established to honor the enduring legacy of Joshua David Early, a beloved member of the Shelby County community whose life exemplified dedication, resilience, and a passion for both athletics and personal growth. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student-athlete who embodies the qualities that defined Josh’s remarkable character—commitment to excellence, leadership on and off the field, and a spirit of service to others.
  • Award Amount: $2,500

    Eligibility: Open to graduating high school seniors that live in Shelby County who have participated in varsity athletics and plan to pursue higher education at an accredited college, university, or trade school.

    Due By: May 12th, 2026

    Criteria for Selection: Applicants will be evaluated based on how they reflect Josh’s values and life:

    • Athletic Achievement: Demonstrated commitment and sportsmanship in their chosen sport(s).
    • Leadership & Character: Evidence of inspiring peers, overcoming challenges, and contributing positively to the community, as Josh did.
    • Academic Effort: A strong work ethic in the classroom, mirroring Josh’s determination to succeed.
    • Community Involvement: Active participation in volunteer work or initiatives that uplift Shelby County, reflecting Josh’s heart for service. 

    Through this scholarship, Shelby County Community Charity aims to keep Josh’s memory alive by empowering a student-athlete who shares his passion, grit, and generosity. The information provided on this form will be used by the Shelby County Community Charity Scholarship Committee to select one recipient. It is important that you give complete details concerning your college/career plans, activities, and financial information.
