    The Brandi Milburn Paden Memorial Scholarship was created to celebrate the legacy of Brandi Milburn Paden, a cherished member of the Shelby County community. Her life was a testament to caring for others and she encompassed a spirit of adventure, joy, and resilience. Each year, this scholarship is granted to a student who reflects the remarkable qualities that defined Brandi’s character—dedication to education, a passion for service, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those around them. Recipients of this scholarship are encouraged to pursue their dreams with the same vigor and enthusiasm that Brandi exemplified in her own life.
  • Award Amount: $2,500

    Eligibility: Open to graduating high school seniors that live in Shelby County who plan to pursue a drgree in education at an accredited college, university.

    Due By: May 12th, 2026

    Criteria for Selection: Applicants will be evaluated based on how they reflect Brandi's values and life:

    • Spirit for adventure: Someone that will explore new horizons with curiosity and courage seeking out promise of growth and discovery, and learning something new.
    • Caring for others:Evidence of nurturing and demonstrating empathy and compassion. Displaying concern for the well-being of those around you.
    • Resilience: Encompassing the inner strength that enables you to weather life's storms and bounce back from adversity. It's the determination to keep moving forward, learning and growing from challenges, and finding the silver lining even in difficult situations. Resilience is the quiet courage that fuels perseverance and hope.
    • Joy: An uplifting person that fills the heart with warmth and light, often finding joy in simple moments of gratitude and appreciation. True joy displayed in everyday experiences.

    Through this scholarship, Shelby County Community Charity aims to keep Brandi's memory alive by empowering a studentto embody these cherished qualities and make a positive impact in the world. By investing in the education of promising young individuals, the charity hopes to inspire a new generation that carries forward the legacy of kindness, exploration, and resilience that Brandi held dear. The information provided on this form will be used by the Shelby County Community Charity Scholarship Committee to select one recipient.
