Two non-renewable scholarship awards of $500 each are available to Floyd County graduating seniors. One scholarship is for a trade school or community college and one is for a 4-year college/university.
The scholarship award will be paid directly to the school you will be attending. If your registration is cancelled, this money will be refunded to the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund. A voucher must be submitted with proof of enrollment for the disbursement of the scholarship.
Funds must be requested by university or college during the 2026-2027 School Year.
A written request must be submitted to extend the funds to another school year. This request must be submitted to the Chamber Office by December 31, 2026.
Application Requirements
- Applications and attachments must be submitted by Wednesday, April 1st.
- Answer all the questions on this form, most require an answer.
- The following three items must be included (uploaded) with this application form to be considered for a scholarship.
- Essay: Answer one of the three essay questions listed below.
- Two letters of reference: one from a teacher, one from a community member (e.g. employer, minister, and neighbor). The reference from the community cannot be a family member.
- Transcript or Equivalent: (SAT scores can be used for home schooled students)OPTIONAL - List of extracurricular activities (including any significant responsibilities at home).
