2026 John McEnhilll  Legacy Scholarship Application
  • 2026 John McEnhill Legacy Scholarship Application

  • One non-renewable scholarship award of $1000 is available to a Floyd County graduating senior who is altruistically minded with a strong history of volunteerism, and demonstrates highly promising leadership.

This scholarship can be used for pursuing an undergraduate degree or fees associated with a reputable program that provides leadership development and/or community service training program.

This scholarship is to support students with GPA of 2.5 and above who desire to bring their talents, abilities, and skills back to Floyd County and enhance our community through involvement and volunteerism.

    Essay Guidelines:

The application and essay should reflect: "How/Why is volunteer service for your community important to you now and in the future?"  (Read Chamber AI Policy first)

The John McEnhill Legacy scholarship will be awarded based on:

    • The quality of the essay
    • Community involvement and/or volunteer roles (Please note volunteer service must be unpaid and not related to household responsibilities. There is a strong preference for secular volunteerism or external faith-based volunteerism)
    • Letter(s) of reference from an organization(s) for which the student volunteered
    • Completed application.

The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Committee will make a final decision on the recipient. Scholarship will not be awarded if no suitable applicants.

The award will be $1,000 to be used for tuition, equipment, or any other educational need, paid to the accepting college, university, or eligible program. A voucher must be submitted with proof of enrollment for disbursement of the scholarship.

The scholarship award will be paid directly to the school or eligible program you will be attending. If your registration is cancelled, this money will be refunded to the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.

Funds via the voucher form must be requested by university or college during the 2026-2027 School Year. A written request must be submitted to extend the funds to another school year. This request must be submitted to the Chamber Office by December 31, 2026.
