  • Know Your Rights

Below is the event information and registration form for the Know Your Rights event for Albany Pride. This is a FREE event, but we would love to know how many people to expect - so please let us know if you are attending by filling out the quick form below.
  • Know your rights. Build your confidence.

At this free Albany Pride 2026 event, Mason (he/him) and Jemma (she/they) from the Equal Opportunity Commission will explain your rights around discrimination and harassment, and how to use them.

This event is for everyone and will help you understand what your rights are, when the law applies, and where to go for support.

    Date: Thursday 26 February 2026

Time: 5:15 PM to 7:00 PM

Location: Albany Public Library, 221 York Street

Bring: Your authentic self, and any questions you might have about discrimination, harassment and the law.

What to expect: Mason and Jemma will give a short talk followed by time for questions. The library is airconditioned, we will be in one of the meeting rooms and there will be chairs set up. You are more than welcome to sit on the floor if you'd prefer. The library is accessible, with accessible facilities and amentities. You can find more information about the library's accessibility on their website: Albany Library Accessibility Information

A quick heads‑up: This session is open to everyone, of all ages, abilities, genders and sexual orientations. We will be talking about discrimination and harassment, which can be sensitive for some people, especially younger attendees (such as those below high school age). We will do our best to create a respectful and inclusive space, and you are always welcome to step out if you need to.
