  • Read the following carefully:

  • I agree to provide the authorized EBARR representative, or his/her designate, access to all parts of my home and property for a home inspection before my application to foster is approved.
  • I agree that I am over 21 years of age.
  • I agree to provide my foster animal with proper and routine veterinary care, arranged by EBARR including a yearly wellness exam, current, required and recommended vaccinations, and urgent and emergency care as needed. I also understand that I must keep my foster animal on regular heartworm and flea & tick preventative medication, if recommended by EBARR, in addition to any other medications as prescribed by the EBARR vet. All medical issues related to the foster animal will be communicated immediately.
  • I agree that I am financially responsible for all proper and routine foster animal care including toys, shelter, etc. for my foster animal. Unless other arrangements are made with an EBARR representative.
  • I agree that EBARR provides no guarantee as to the health of my foster animal, and that my foster animal may have significant medical needs, socialization problems, and not be housebroken.
  • I will not arrange or pay for, or otherwise cause, any elective veterinary procedure to be performed on the foster animal during the period covered by this agreement, without the express written consent of the authorized EBARR representative, or his/her designate.

     

  • I agree that if I choose to take a puppy or puppies into my home they need to be quarantined for a minimum of 14 days away from my other animals. I understand that if I fail to do so, EBARR is not financially responsible for any illness my personal animals acquire. If puppies have already been through the quarantine period, EBARR's board members will advise this is not necessary.
  • I agree that I may only have my foster animal temporarily.
  • I agree that I am fostering this animal for EBARR, and that I do not have any right of ownership over my foster animal. I further agree that EBARR's rights in and to my foster animal are superior to mine. I also agree to provide the authorized EBARR representative, access to my home and property to check on my foster animal (in a reasonable amount of time) at any time that I am in possession of my foster animal.
  • I Agree to immediately return any foster animal in my care to EBARR, at the request of the authorized EBARR representative, at any time and for any reason. If EBARR is forced to undertake any action to enforce this provision of the agreement, I agree to indemnify EBARR for all court costs and attorneys' fees connected with such an action.

  • I will not arrange or pay for, or otherwise cause, any elective veterinary procedure to be performed on the foster animal during the period covered by this agreement, without the express written consent of the authorized EBARR representative, or his/her designate.

     

  • If I am planning to move at any time during the period covered by this agreement, I agree to contact the authorized EBARR representative prior to my move, with new contact information. I understand that EBARR has the right to request return of my foster animal based on such a change of residence, and agree that I will surrender my foster animal to EBARR immediately upon request.
  • agree that, as long as I provide foster care to my foster animal to EBARR's satisfaction, I will be given the first right of adoption of my foster animal, at such time as EBARR decides to offer my foster animal for adoption.
  • If at any point, I can no longer, or do not want to continue to, provide care, food, shelter or veterinary care for my foster animal, I agree to contact the authorized EBARR representative and arrange for surrender and return of my foster animal back to EBARR.
  • will not transfer possession or custody of my foster animal to any other person at any time, except for temporary, short-term possession for the purpose of vet care, grooming, etc.
  • agree to contact the authorized EBARR representative with any and all questions or concerns about my foster animal or the fostering program, as well as with updated contact information.
  • agree that if I refuse to comply with any provision of this agreement, EBARR has the right to terminate this agreement and also has the right to the immediate surrender and return of my foster animal and any other animals for whom I am providing foster care for EBARR. I further consent to provide EBARR with access to my premises if necessary to facilitate the return.
  • The fosterer shall transport the animal to and from any EBARR adoption events that he or she is reasonably able to attend, or help in facilitating the adoption of the animal. The EBARR representatives shall, in its sole discretion, make any decisions about the placement or adoption of the animal.
  • The use of the following training aids, techniques, and actions are strictly prohibited: Use of electronic shock collars, striking the animal in any way, except in self defense, allowing the animal to run off leash in any place that is not entirely and adequately enclosed or fenced, tying the animal outside for extended periods of time, and allowing any person to taunt, torment or abuse the animal. Any violation of these prohibits may result in an immediate termination of the foster care and EBARR may reclaim the animal from the fosterer. Use of any electronic shock, bark or prong collar is strictly prohibited.
  • The fosterer agrees to provide an adequate supply of high quality pet food suitable for the animal. Any treats, bones or toys provided for the animal by the fosterer shall be at the expense of the fosterer. EBARR may, in its sole discretion, reimburse the fosterer for any specialized dietary food, supplements or products provided to the animal by the fosterer on the fosterer's own initiative.
  • EBARR shall reimburse the fosterer for any veterinary care, vaccinations, surgery or prescriptions which EBARR expressly approved in advance of treatment or expressly approved after the treatment was administered, such approval to be rendered in the sole discretion of EBARR. The fosterer will be responsible for any non-approved expenses.
  • Any other expenses borne by the fosterer may be reimbursed by EBARR in its sole discretion, but EBARR shall not become liable for any additional expenses without its approval.
  • The fosterer understands that the animal may have come from an uncertain background where it may have been exposed to stress, neglect or abuse. The fosterer also understands that EBARR has not thoroughly evaluated the temperament of the animal and that it may possess quirks, idiosyncrasies and problems that have not yet been discovered. The fosterer acknowledges and agrees that the care to be provided by the fosterer includes the ongoing evaluation and management of the animal's temperament by the fosterer in cooperation with and under the supervision of EBARR. The fosterer accepts responsibility for any and all events that occur in connection with the fostering of an EBARR animal. The fosterer recognizes that some animals may have behavior problems and the fosterer assumes all risks associated with those potential problems. EBARR is a strictly volunteer organization. As such EBARR depends on its volunteers to provide all necessary labor and to assume all related liability. By signing this contract the fosterer hereby agrees not to hold EBARR or any of its agents, volunteers, successors and heirs liable for any physical,
  • emotional or property damages that may arise from its involvement with EBARR. This includes any and all activities that fosterer performs as an EBARR volunteer.
  • Foster agreements are able to be terminated, but EBARR requires a 2-week notification to give us time to find an alternate home for your foster animal.
  • For the safety of all: No EBARR animal shall be left unsupervised, with a child, for any reason, during feeding times or while animals are enjoying treats or bones. Children will not be allowed to enter crates, at any time, for any reason. Please be aware that some animals may be possessive around toys or other items. Therefore, children should not be allowed to take or manipulate the items while the animal has them in his/her possession.
  • I agree that the opportunity given to me to help rehabilitate my foster animal, as well as the chance of a potential future adoption, is of significant benefit to me and serves as proper legal consideration in exchange for my agreements stated in this contract. I have read this agreement in its entirety, and I agree that all statements and stated agreements contained in this document are made by me, and are truthful, under penalty of perjury under the laws of the state(s) of CALIFORNIA.
