We are looking for ideas for each day of the event and requesting member participation and support!

Friday, October 16th: Open Mic Night and Readers Evening: We are looking for MC and facilitators.

Saturday, October 17th: Conference Event Day: We are looking for MC, speakers, storytellers, songwriters, artists and, mini-workshop facilitators and vendors.

Sunday, October 18th: Conference Event Day, Panel Discussion, Exhibit and Closing.
Our theme for the Conference is: The I(N)WORD: African-American Writers at Work! We will be exploring the I(N)Word and its complexity through the power of writing, art, education, history, and healing. We would love your feedback, ideas and thoughts on this:
We will be holding the Conference at Mount Zion Baptist Church after their church services or when there are no services held. It is located: 1634 19th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. Throughout the month of October, we hope to collaborate with other Organizations like Inspiration Lab, Central Library to celebrate AAWA's 35th Anniversary. Please let us know if you have any ideas, thoughts or feedback.
