Australian Seed Federation | Life Membership

Criteria
Life membership of ASF can be awarded to an individual no longer actively involved in the seed industry in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the Company and the Australian Seed Industry.

ASF Life Member election process

1. Members without a direct business association with the nominee can propose an individual for Life Membership of ASF to the Membership Committee* by providing a short description of the nominee’s contribution to the ASF.
2. The Membership Committee will determine the eligibility of the applicant’s nomination for Life Membership after consulting the Region in which the nominee is based.
3. The decision to approve or reject the nomination for Life Membership will be by consensusof the Membership Committee.
4. Successful nominees will be presented with their Life Membership of ASF at the ASF Seed Business Gala Dinner in the same year as nomination and approval.mination and approval.

• Life membership is reserved for those whose contribution goes beyond the ordinary for an extended period.
• The nominee should be able to demonstrate significant contribution to the core activities of the ASF over a majority of their years of membership. This may include:
  1. Significant contributions while holding positions on either the ASF Board and/or the Executive of a Region and/or Working Group
  2. Significant contributions to the international or regional seed sectors
  3. Participating in ASF meetings, events and activities to a much greater extent than average.

*The ASF Membership Committee is comprised of the Board and Regional Chairs. It is Chaired by the ASF
President

ASF Life Membership benefits:

Life Members of the ASF are entitled to:

• All rights of an Ordinary Member i.e. voting rights and added to the ASF email lists,
• Free admission to the ASF Seed Business Annual Convention including the Welcome Drinks and Gala Dinner social functions, and
• Free membership to the ASF Working Groups.

Not included:

• Life members will be required to pay for their own airfares and accommodation to the ASF Seed Business Annual Convention (if attending),
• If a life member is bringing their partner, they will be required to pay the registration cost for their partner to attend the ASF Convention and any social functions (at cost),
• Life members will be required to pay for any additional social functions at cost, if attendingn whilst at the ASF Seed Business Annual Convention other than the Welcome Drinks and Gala Dinner functions which are included in life membership, and
• Life members will be required to pay for their own travel and accommodation if attending the ASF regional meetings.
