Here is what you need to know about beach baptisms at OGCMA beach:
TIMEFRAME: Baptisms are ONLY hosted during our regular season (weekends Memorial Day- Father's Day, then daily through Labor Day)
FEE: There is no cost for the baptism itself. Upon arrival, please inform our attendant that you are here for a baptism for which you have already applied. They will allow your group to enter the beach for the baptism service. Some groups prefer to arrive early or stay on the beach after the service and make a day of it. Please purchase beach passes (group rates available) if you are arriving early or staying after the baptism.
TIME: We are happy to assist with your baptism during regular beach hours, subject to weather and beach conditions. Please note that overcrowded conditions at the waterfront may delay safety measures.
ARRIVAL: Upon arriving at the beach, please approach the lifeguard stand and inform them that you are here for an approved baptism. They will direct you to the area they feel is safest for your baptism.
SAFETY: Rest assured that your group's safety is our lifeguards' top priority. In rare occurrences, baptisms may need to be rescheduled if weather conditions are not conducive to a safe baptism. After-hours baptisms are not permitted.
CLERGY: You will need to bring someone who will assist with the baptism. We do not have anyone available to officiate the ceremony.
