Godparent Information
There must be at least one Godparent. A child may have one Godfather, and one Godmother. Godparents must be:
- practicing Catholics, at least 16 years of age, who are baptized and confirmed
- be living a life of faith (attend Mass regularly, participate in the sacraments, etc.) in keeping with their role as godparent
- if married, validly married in a Catholic Church
If the child will have only one Godparent, a non-Catholic, Christian may serve as a witness.
