ASHBA NATIONAL SELECT SERIES CLASS RULES & PROTOCOL
All Select Series American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred classes are to be run under American Saddlebred and Half Saddlebred breed rules and specifications. Star shows and USEF shows in each Region may offer Select Series classes. Each show may allow Select Series horses to show in qualifying and championship classes. These may run concurrently and be pinned separately. Or may run as stand-alone classes Show management must clarify this option in the prize list. Each Region may select a show to be their Regional Championship. American Saddlebreds and Half Saddlebreds will show in separate classes. Show management must clarify in the prize list which classes are qualifiers for championships. Select Series qualifiers and championships may be run concurrently with classes within the same division, as long as show management has clarified this option in its prize list; in these cases ribbons will be awarded separately. Saddlebreds and Half Saddlebreds must show in at least one ASHBA Select Series class at any ASHBA-sanctioned show to qualify for any of the Select Series Regional Championships and/or the Select Series National Championship at the All American Horse Classic in the same calendar year. Horses competing at the World's Championship Horse Show (WCHS) in the same calendar year will be ineligible to compete in the National Select Series Program. Horses shown in equitation classes only at the WCHS may still show in performance classes in the Select Series Regional Championships and Select Series National Championship.
