Calling all artists! Visual Arts Mississauga is inviting you to submit images of your 2-dimensional artwork for our World Art Day Community Exhibition!

This year we are accepting submissions exploring the theme Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community Through Art

We encourage you to consider themes like Growth, Community, Identity, and Artistic Expression.

VAM would love to showcase the talented artwork of artists of all ages to celebrate World Art Day! We want to emphasis how important art is, promote different techniques and media, and to support artists of all ages.

For 2026's exhibition we will be accepting:

Kids/teens: 30 artworks (9 x 12 inches)

Youth/Emerging: 30 artworks (16 x 20 inches)

Adult/Established: 30 artworks (16 x 20 inches)

*Once these categories have been filled out, submissions will close so please note, they may close earlier than the deadline*

Important dates:

Online submission deadline: Sunday, March 22 at 11:59pm.
Artwork drop off: Thursday, March 26 - Saturday, March 29
Exhibition dates: Monday, March 30 - Sunday, April 19
Opening reception: Friday, April 10, 2026 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Terms of Entry

Please read carefully to ensure all criteria is met
- We are accepting any 2-dimensional artwork from all ages.
- 2-dimensional mediums can include paintings; drawings; works of mixed-media; hand-pulled prints; fibre art; photography; digital art and new media
- Maximum size dimensions:
  For ages 16+: 16 x 20 inches
  For ages under 16: 9 x 12 inches
  Artwork submitted by artists under 16 will be mounted onto black Bristol board
- Artists may submit 1 recent piece (completed between 2023-2026)
- Art must not be AI generated.
- Applications must be submitted here by Jot Form
- Images must be labeled with your first name, last name and title of the piece
- You must be able to come to VAM to drop off your piece. This is an in-person exhibition only.
- All submissions will be featured in the VAM Gallery from March 30th – April 19th.
- We will have a special opening reception at VAM on Friday, April 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
- Fill out the submission form by Sunday, March 22, 2026. Artwork must be dropped off by Saturday, March 29, 2026.
- Artwork must be reclaimed from VAM before May 2nd or artwork will be disposed of.
