Thank you for your interest in presenting our Keynote at 2026 All Things Grief!
  • Conference Topic: Collective Grief - Understanding Shared Loss and Trauma in a Changing World

Across our nation, communities are navigating profound and ongoing collective grief, an emotional weight shaped not only by shared tragedies but also by the deeply personal experience of death‑related loss. Events such as mass violence, including ones in our own state of Minnesota, natural disasters, global conflict, political division, and the lingering impacts of the pandemic reverberate through our collective sense of safety and belonging. These experiences leave a lasting imprint on individuals and communities, often intensifying the grief journeys of those already mourning the death of someone they love.

As the focus for this year’s All Things Grief Conference, we would like the keynote presentation to explore the nature of collective grief and offer approaches for recognizing and responding to its influence in our clinical and professional work.

Proposal Requirements (Please review fully before submitting):

    • Proposed presentations should explore collective grief through a professional, research-informed, and practical lens. Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to:
      • Collective grief following community-wide or national trauma noting the long-term effects of shared loss on individuals, institutions, and systems
      • Strategies for supporting communities navigating ongoing or layered grief
      • Implications for grief professionals working in clinical, educational, nonprofit, or community-based settings
      • Grief responses within schools, youth-serving systems, and educational communities
    • Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance to the theme, depth of expertise, clarity of learning objectives, applicability to professional practice, and overall quality of the proposed presentation.
    • Presentation should be approximately 60 minutes.
    • Attendees work with grievers as part of their professional work including but not limited to: hospice workers, social workers, nurses, doulas, educators, chaplains, and funeral directors.
