    • Admission Requirements and Application Procedures 
    • The following application information is required and cannot be waived:

      • Application Form & Fee:

        1. Complete and submit this application form in full.
        2. There is no application fee for this program.
      • Education Background
        Provide proof of high school completion or its equivalent (e.g., GED). This must include official transcripts, or high school diploma, or post-secondary degree. Non-English original documents must be accompanied by a certified English translation.

      • English Language Proficiency
        Applicants must meet at least one of the following English language proficiency requirements:

        o   Completion of grades 9-11, including English 11 with a grade of ‘C’ or higher from a country where English is one of the principal languages, or

        o   Completion of 2 years of full-time post-secondary education at an accredited institution where English is the language of instruction, or

        o   Submission of verified results for one of the English language proficiency tests listed below.
        Test results must be dated no more than two years before the start date of the program.
          a) International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: overall score of 5.5 or higher
          b) Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test: overall score of 40 or higher
          c) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) IBT: overall score of 46 or higher
          d) Duolingo English Test: overall score of 95 or higher
          e) iTEP Academic test: overall score of 3.5 or higher

      • Letter of Intent: Submit a letter detailing your background, interests, and future goals. The letter should explain why you wish to pursue the program and how it aligns with your career objectives.

      • Identification: Attach a copy of a valid government-issued photo ID or birth certificate.

      • Signature of a parent or guardian: Required only for applicants under the age of 19.

    • Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) 
    • This institution is certified by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. Certified institutions must comply with regulatory requirements relating to, among other things, student enrolment contracts, tuition refunds and instructor qualifications.       Please be advised that under section 61 of the Private Training Act, the Registrar is authorized to collect, use and disclose personal information in accordance with the Registrar’s regulatory duties under that Act. Accordingly, this institution is authorized to disclose your personal information to the Registrar for regulatory purposes.

      Employment cannot be guaranteed for any student who successfully completes a career training program offered by the institution.

    • Additional Expenses

      (Interior Design Program Only)

      In addition to tuition and administrative fees, students enrolled in the Interior Design Acceleration Program should budget for the following Interior Design–related expenses:

      • Design tools and drafting supplies
      • Required textbooks and reference materials
      • Software access (where applicable)
      • Printing and plotting costs
      • Portfolio materials

      These costs are estimates and may vary depending on individual project requirements.

    • Tuition Payment Options: 
    • Tuition Payment – First Instructional Period Only

      This payment schedule applies only to the first instructional period (April 06, 2026 – September 18, 2026).


      StudentAid BC

      All diploma and certificate programs are eligible for StudentAid BC funding, subject to approval.

      Students approved for StudentAid BC may follow the StudentAid BC disbursement schedule. Proof of assessment or confirmation of funding should be submitted to the Registrar as soon as it becomes available.


      Option A – Full Payment Incentive

      • Pay full tuition by March 16, 2026
      • Receive a $200 CAD full-payment incentive, applied to tuition

      Option B – Two-Installment Payment Plan

      • 50% of tuition due by March 16, 2026
      • Remaining 50% due by June 08, 2026

      Credit Card Payment Notice

      In accordance with the institution’s payment policy, a 2.4% surcharge will be applied to all payments made by credit card.

    • International Student Payment Requirements

      First Instructional Period Only – Interior Design Acceleration Program


      Tuition Deposit and Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)

      After receiving confirmation from the Registrar, international students are required to submit payment to the institution’s bank account prior to the issuance of the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). This payment applies to the first instructional period only.

      The required payment includes the following:

      a. Tuition Deposit

      • A $5,000 CAD tuition deposit is required.
      • The deposit will be fully refunded within 30 days if the study permit application is refused, upon receipt of official written proof of refusal.
      • If the student withdraws after the PAL has been issued, $4,000 CAD of the tuition deposit will be refunded within 30 days, in accordance with the institution’s Tuition Refund Policy.
      • The tuition deposit will be applied toward the first instructional period tuition.

      b. Wire Transfer Service Charge

      • Please note that Vancity deducts a $15 CAD service charge from all incoming wire transfers.
      • Students must add $15 CAD to their total payment amount to ensure the correct fees are received by the institution.

      Full Tuition Payment Requirement

      • International students are required to pay the full remaining tuition balance for the first instructional period.
      • The remaining tuition balance is due no later than three (3) weeks prior to the program start date.
      • Installment or partial payment options are not available for international students.

      Credit Card Payment Notice

      In accordance with the institution’s payment policy, a 2.4% surcharge will be applied to all payments made by credit card.

    • General Admissions & Financial Information

      Students are accepted on a space-available basis. To ensure consideration for admission, applicants are encouraged to apply well in advance of the program start date.

      Pacific Design Academy (PDA) reserves the right to merge or cancel any class or program in the event of insufficient enrolment.

      Tuition Tax Receipts: As per Revenue Canada Regulations, Pacific Design Academy issues T2202 tax receipts for each calendar year in which a student is enrolled.

      Financial Aid: PDA will, when requested, provide assistance to those students arranging financial aid packages. Students in our diploma programs may be eligible for assistance under Canada Student Loans (forms are available online and at the Admissions Office) or through sponsorship (Workers' Compensation, Social Services, or Employment Canada Please contact the school or refer to the Pacific Design Academy brochure for additional details.

      Refund Policy

      1. Written Notice Requirement

      a) To initiate a refund, written notice must be provided:

      (i) By the student to the institution when the student withdraws, or 

      (ii) By the institution to the student where the institution dismisses a student.

      2. Study Permit Refusal (International Students Only)

      If the institution receives official written proof of refusal of a study permit, and the student does not attend the program, the institution will refund 100% of tuition and all related fees, other than the non-refundable application fee, provided the refusal is received before 30% of the instruction hours would have been provided, had the student started the program on the later of:

      • the program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance; or
      • the program start date in the enrolment contract.

      Refunds will be issued within thirty (30) calendar days of receiving proof of refusal.

      3. Refund Entitlement 

      Refund entitlement is calculated based on the total tuition payable under the enrolment contract, less any applicable non-refundable application fee.

      Where total fees have not yet been collected, the institution is not required to refund more than the amount already paid. A student may still be responsible for fees payable under the enrolment contract, subject to the limits set out below.

      4. Refund Schedule

      Before program start date, the institution receives a notice of withdrawal:
      • No later than seven days after student signed the enrolment contract, and
      • Before the program start date.

      100% of tuition and all related fees, other than application fee.

      Related fees include: administrative fees, application fees, assessment fees, and fees charged for textbooks or other course materials.

      • More than seven days after student signed the enrolment contract, and
      • Before the program start date.
      Institution may retain up to 10% of tuition, to a maximum of $1,000 paid or payable under a contract.
      After the program start date, the institution provides a notice of dismissal or receives a notice of withdrawal (applies to all programs):
      • No later than seven days after the program start date, the institution provides a notice of dismissal or receives a notice of withdrawal
       Institution may retain up to 10% of tuition, to a maximum of $1,000 paid or payable under a contract.
      • After the program start date, and up to and including 10% of instruction hours have been provided.
      Institution may retain up to 10% of tuition payable under a contract.  
      • After the program start date, and after more than 10% but before 30% of instruction hours have been provided.
      Institution may retain up to 30% of tuition payable under a contract.
      • After the program start date, and after more than 30% but before 50% of instruction hours have been provided.
      Institution may retain up to 50% of tuition payable under a contract.
      • After the program start date, and after more than 50% of instruction hours have been provided.
      No refund due
      Student does not attend - "no show"  
      • A student does not attend the first 30% of the program
      Institution may retain up to 50% of the tuition paid under a contract.

       5. Other Refund Policy Requirements

      a) If a student is enrolled in a program without having met the admission requirements, and the student did not misrepresent their knowledge or skills, the institution will refund 100% of tuition and all related fees, including the application fee, if ordered to do so.

      b) Where an institution provides technical equipment to a student, without cost to the student, and the student withdraws or is dismissed, the institution may charge the student for the equipment or use of the equipment on a cost recovery basis, unless the student returns the equipment unopened or as issued within fourteen (14) calendar days.

      c) The institution must pay the tuition or fee refund within 30 days after receiving notice of withdrawal or refusal of study permit; providing a notice of dismissal, or the date on which the first 30% of the hours of instruction are provided (no-show).

      Please note that submission of this application does not constitute enrolment. Pacific Design Academy requires students to sign an enrolment contract prior to accepting tuition payments.
