PAAWS is a foster organization. We do not have a shelter and rely on fosters to house animals in their home until they can be adopted. Are you willing to keep in your house, but foster this animal to help get it adopted, bring it to events, and medical appointments?*

1. Affirmation of Ownership & Authority "I, the undersigned (the 'Owner'), hereby certify that I am the sole legal owner of the animal described above. I have full legal authority to enter into this agreement. I understand that by signing this document, I am NOT yet relinquishing legal ownership to PAAWS. I retain full legal possession, ownership, and responsibility for the animal until a formal Transfer of Custody is executed."

2. Disclosure of History & Indemnification "I certify that all information provided regarding the animal’s health, temperament, and history—specifically regarding biting, aggression, or behavioral issues—is true, accurate, and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that withholding information regarding aggression puts PAAWS volunteers and potential adopters at risk. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless PAAWS from any liability, claims, or damages arising from the animal's actions (including bites or property damage) while the animal remains in my physical custody."

3. Continued Custody & Care "I understand that PAAWS acts solely as a facilitator to assist in finding a placement (foster, rescue, or adoptive home). During this search period, I agree to continue providing all necessary food, shelter, and veterinary care at my own expense. PAAWS does not assume guardianship or liability for the animal during this interim period."

4. Withdrawal of Surrender & Reimbursement Policy "I reserve the right to withdraw this surrender request and rehome the animal privately at any time, provided that PAAWS has not yet secured a placement.

No Expenses Incurred: If PAAWS has not incurred financial costs (veterinary care, medications, administrative fees) on behalf of the animal, I may withdraw without penalty.
Reimbursement Required: If PAAWS has incurred any expenses related to this animal (including but not limited to vaccinations, spay/neuter deposits, or medical treatments), I agree that 100% of these expenses must be reimbursed to PAAWS immediately before the surrender request can be cancelled. Failure to reimburse these costs constitutes a breach of this agreement."
