2026 VACP Law Enforcement Roadway Safety Champion Awards Nomination Form

In partnership with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Virginia Highway Safety Office, the VACP is pleased to offer a recognition program for law enforcement officers and agencies who are making extraordinary contributions in roadway safety!
NOMINATION DEADLINE: JUNE 1, 2026

For 2026, the VACP is seeking nominations for the following ten (10) LE Roadway Safety Champion Awards:
- Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) of the Year
- Occupant Protection Champion Award
- Crash Investigation Champion Award
- Roadway Safety Leadership Award
- Roadway Safety Innovation Award
- Public Information Champion Award
- NEW for 2026! Commercial Vehicle Safety Champion Award
- NEW for 2026! Beyond the Traffic Stop Champion
- NEW for 2026! Rural Roadway Safety Champion Award
- NEW for 2026! Campus Roadway and Pedestrian Safety Champion Award

Deliberations/Notifications
The Reviewers will deliberate in July and notifications will be made as soon as possible after they finalize selections.

The Awards will be presented to officers/agency representatives at the VACP Annual Conference, August 30 – September 2, 2026 in Roanoke. If a recipient is unable to attend the presentation, we will make arrangements for local presentations.
