Dear Soror:

Thank you for considering sponsorship of a young lady to become a prospective 2026 Debutante. Before asking an applicant to complete her forms, please familiarize yourself with the qualifications, financial obligations and other general information found in the attached Debutante Ball Application Packet. In addition, please read the attached Expectations of a Sponsoring Soror form very carefully.

The Screening and Awards Committee will look very closely at the required grade point average of each applicant. The applicant must have at least a 2.75 (C+) on a 4.0 grading system to be considered as a Debutante. The applicant must submit an official transcript of her completed and current high school courses from her school counselor or school official.

As a reminder, the Sponsoring Soror Report Form, like all other applicant forms, must be postmarked no later than Monday, April 13, 2026. Forms can be sent electronically or mailed to the following:

EXPECTATIONS OF A SPONSORING SOROR
- She knows her Debutante and is the primary reference for her.
- She is on speaking terms with the parents.
- She is the liaison between parents, the Debutante and the Steering Committee throughout the Debutante Ball season.
- She lends her support to her Debutante by being present during various activities.
- She is helpful by reminding her parents and her Debutante of important deadlines, dates, and obligations.
- She stays informed about activities and proceedings.
- She feels a measure of responsibility in helping to make the Debutante Ball a success.
- She is present on the night of the Debutante Ball.
- She is an ACTIVE member of a graduate Chapter in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
- She is encouraged to support the Debutante through solicitation of ads and patrons for the Souvenir Journal.
- She is expected to attend the Sponsoring Soror Activity, Mother Debutante Tea, as well as community service projects with the Debutantes.
