D.E.A.R. DAY 2026 | WAXAHACHIE ISD

Join Waxahachie ISD in celebrating D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) Day on Friday, March 6, 2026! This special day encourages students to build a love for reading by pausing their usual activities to enjoy a great book.

• Using the dropdown menus, please select your preferred school, teacher/classroom, and reading time. Most campuses and classrooms offer 8:30am and 9:45am reading times (as available).
• If you do not have a specific preference at any step, simply choose “No Preference.”
• During the week of D.E.A.R. Day, you will receive a final email with your assigned school, teacher, and reading time.
• While we will do our best to match your preferences, assignments are not guaranteed.
• If you would like to read more than once during the day, please submit the form again with your additional preferences.

There’s no need to bring anything with you—teachers will provide the books and any materials needed. Thank you for helping us inspire young readers!

If you prefer to read in Spanish - please choose to read at either Dunaway Elementary, Turner Pre-K Academy, or Wedgeworth Elementary. The dual language classes are listed as such. 

If you prefer to read in English - please feel free to choose any classroom at any school (even the dual language classes).
