  • LEGAL CONSULTANT 

    The Legal Consultant supports the Women Safety Wing by providing legal expertise, guiding investigations, assisting prosecution through drafting and litigation support, ensuring legal compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, contributing to policy development, conducting training, and undertaking legal research to strengthen conviction rates in crimes against women and children

    Criteria Requirement
    Number of Position 1 (One)
    Qualification Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university with valid enrolment with the Bar Council of Telangana.

    Postgraduate qualification in Law (LLM) will be an added advantage.
    Citizenship Indian Citizens only
    Age Should be less than 65 years of age as on the application date.

    Experience

    1. Minimum 15 years of professional legal experience, preferably in criminal law.

    2. Hands-on experience in handling cases related to Crimes against Women & Children including POCSO, Rape, Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences.

    3. Proven experience in drafting legal documents such as counters, affidavits, petitions, legal opinions and court submissions.

    4. Experience in drafting pleadings, affidavits, counters, legal opinions and coordination with prosecution agencies.

    5. Experience working with police departments, prosecution, judiciary or government institutions will be an advantage.
    Skill Sets

    1. Strong knowledge of Criminal Laws including POCSO, Domestic Violence Act, Sexual Offences laws, JJ Act, CrPC and Evidence Act.

    2. Expert legal drafting skills for counters, affidavits, court replies, legal notes and advisory memos.

    3. Litigation support capability to assist prosecutors during trials and strengthen case presentation.

    4. Case analysis and evidence appreciation to identify gaps and improve conviction outcomes.

    5. Legal research proficiency to track latest judgments, amendments and policy changes.

    6. Advisory skills to guide Investigating Officers and stakeholders on legal procedures and compliance.

    7. Training and capacity building ability to conduct legal awareness and skill sessions for police personnel.

    8. Policy and SOP development support to recommend best practices in investigation and prosecution.

    9. Inter-agency coordination skills to liaise with courts, prosecutors, NGOs and other departments.

    10. Effective communication skills including professional report writing, documentation and presentations.

    11. Compliance monitoring and governance understanding to ensure adherence to court orders and legal mandates.

    12. Professional integrity and sensitivity with confidentiality, ethical conduct and victim-centric approach.
    Languages Should be fluent in Telugu and English. Knowledge of Hindi will be an advantage.
    Work Location The Legal Consultant will be working at Women Safety Wing, Lakdi Ka Pul, Hyderabad.There will be intra-city and occasional inter-city travel within the state for project implementation and monitoring purposes, for which commute will be provided as and when required.
    Compensation The remuneration payable is INR 1,25,000/- per month, with an annual appreciation up to 10% based on performance, continuance of project and availability of funds.
    Initial Tenure The tenure of the contract is co-terminus with the project funding. The initial contract will be for 1 year, extendable annually based on performance and project requirement.

    Position Reports To The position will report to the ADGP - Women Safety Wing
    Note on Position

    1.It may be noted that the position is full time and on third party roles and purely outsourcing basis.

    2.The incumbent will not be allowed to take up personal clients in matters of Rape, POCSO, Domestic Violence, Marital Disputes or Divorce cases during the engagement with the Women Safety Wing. There should be no direct or deemed conflict of interest.
