    For Students Rising 1st-6th Grade

    Churches involved - Christian Life Church, Greenville First, Vive, Praise, Charleston First, Trinity Greer etc.(check with your church to confirm)

    Cost: $120

    Registration Deadline: June 1, 2026 (or until sellout)

    Campground capacity is 250 (leaders and students). We will sell out! We strongly encourage you to register for camp as soon as possible.

    ALL Volunteers must be over the age of 18. 

    ALL Volunteers must submit a written Recommendation from their licensed/ordained Pastor. 

    ALL Volunteers must complete a full background check through the district.

    ALL Volunteers must be aproved by the District Youth Director (Matt Hoag) before the application is accepted.

    Leader Instructions and General Information!

    1. No children under the current week camp age are allowed to overnight in student cabins. If children are in attendance, they must be a registered camper and bunk with campers.
    2. No one is allowed to leave the campgrounds during the week.
    3. 2 counselors minimum per cabin.
    4. Students are not permitted to be in the cabins without a leader.
    5. Students and leaders are not allowed in any cabin other than their assigend cabin.
    6. Do no go anywhere alone with a students. Rule of 3. Always have another student or adult with you.
    7. Participate with students you are not a spectator or baby sitter. 
    8. Pray with campers of the same gender.
    9. Every one wears an armband at all times.
    10. No Cell Phones.
    11. Meals - be sure your table area is clean before you leave

    Camper Instructions and General Information!

    1. Registrations & payments must be completed through the SC Summer Camp Online Registrations available at www.ag4sc.com/2023summercamp by the marked deadlines.
    2. Camp fees include lodging, meals, and recreational activities.
    3. We encourage campers to register early to ensure them a place at camp. All registrations are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    4. Arrival/Check-in time is 1:00-2:15 PM. Early arrivals are not permitted. Orientation begins promptly at 2:30 PM for ALL campers and staff team members. The first meal served is dinner at approximately 6:00 PM. 
    5. Departure Time is Friday 8:30-9:00 AM (Please be prompt) after final cabin checks that begin at 8:15 AM.
    6. Facilities: All campers will stay in supervised cabins.
    7. Phones: Camper’s are requested not to call home unless there is an emergency. Permission to use the camp phone must be approved by the Camp Director. Incoming calls are also discouraged unless there is an emergency. In case of an emergency, you may leave a message by emailing matt.hoag@ag4sc.com. If you do choose to bring your phone, they must be put away during activities and services, and anything that is lost or stolen is the owner's responsibility, not the camps or the South Carolina Assemblies of God.
    8. ARE THERE ANY EXTRA COSTS: YES, CAMPERS MAY WANT TO BRING AN EXTRA $25 OR MORE FOR SPENDING MONEY OR OFFERINGS, SNACKS, DRINKS, AND T-SHIRTS.
    9. You can mail your student a card or package to the above address marked - Camper Name c/o River Oaks with the address. 

    Please Note: Any prescription drugs brought to camp must be in their original bottle. No over-the-counter drugs allowed! These are provided at camp.

    General Camp Rules

    1. Campers are under the authority of the camp staff during their stay at camp.
    2. Campers are not permitted to leave the camp unless a written request by a parent/legal guardian is presented at registration and/or approved by the DYD, Matt Hoag.
    3. Campers must stay in their cabins after “Lights Out.” Any camper caught outside after this time without a proper reason will be sent home. 
    4. Housing will be assigned by gender at birth.
    5. Use and possession of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, or other illegal contents are strictly forbidden.
    6. No profanity, disrespectful or crude conversation is to be used.
    7. Keep your cabin clean. Room checks will be done during morning Chapel services.
    8. Respect other camper’s belongings.
    9. Do not damage or deface any camp property. If something is broken, report it immediately. Unnecessary damage will be charged to the person(s) responsible and their parents/guardians. If the guilty person(s) cannot be found, the cost of the repair will be shared by each camper and their parent/guardian in the cabin.
    10. Check Out at the end of the week instructions. Each camper will be free to go home AFTER their cabin has been cleaned and approved by the Camp Leadership.
    11. The daily schedule will be observed by everyone, and attendance at all camp activities is required.
    12. Campers are prohibited from driving to/from campgrounds in personal vehicles. 
    13. Campers are expected to observe habits of personal and group courtesy, cleanliness, and Christian conduct.
    14. Guys and girls are not allowed in each other’s cabins or around the cabin area.
    15. All staff and personnel are authorized to maintain order anywhere on the campgrounds.
    16. No hand-held video games, laptops, firearms, or knives are allowed.
    17. We reserve the right to inspect the contents of all personal belongings.  The holding and/or disposal of improper contents is the right of the camp staff.
    18. Neither South Carolina Youth Ministries nor River Oaks will be held responsible for items left at camp.  Lost items must be claimed within 48 hours by emailing matt.hoag@ag4sc.com. Items may be mailed back to you at YOUR expense.
    19. Neither campers nor volunteers are permitted to bring coolers or any other containers of food or beverage items.  Refillable sports bottles are strongly recommended for outdoor activities.
    20. NOTE:  Serious offenses, such as banned substances (drugs, alcohol, firearms, fireworks), will be met with immediate dismissal from camp, as well as notification of local authorities as required by law.  Further, the lack of cooperation, unnecessary roughness, lack of respect for property, or an unwholesome attitude on the part of any individual will result in expulsion from the camp. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED.  PARENTS are asked to review these rules with their child and encourage compliance while at camp.  PARENTS SHOULD INSPECT LUGGAGE BEFORE THE CAMPER DEPARTS. 

    Campers should understand that violations of camp rules may result in disciplinary action, the contact of their parent/legal guardian with the possibility of being sent home and forfeiting their camp fee.

    What To Bring:

    • Modest Attire - T-shirts and shorts are acceptable. No tank tops or midriffs permitted. Shorts must be “finger tip” length from the knee. If you are not appropriately dressed, you will be sent back to your room to change. Al attire must be modest. 
    • Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
    • Extra Clothing. 
    • Clothes that can get dirty. Some games can get messy.
    • Modest One-Piece Swimsuits Only for girls and Long Short style Swimsuits for boys. 
    • Sleeping Bag or sheets, blankets and pillow for a full size bunk bed
    • Towels
    • Flashlight
    • Bible & Notebook
    • Personal Care Items: Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
    • Spending Money
    • Rain Gear
    • Sneakers
    • Bug Spray

    What NOT To Bring:

    • Electronic Games

    • Cell Phones - If you choose to send your student with a phone, they must be put away during activities and services. If it is lost, stolen, or broken, all responsibility is placed on the owner of the device. River Oaks and SC Assemblies of God are not liable for any lost, damaged, or stolen items.

    Activities, including but not limited to:

    Blob and Zip Line
    I voluntarily agree to assume all the foregoing risks relating to my child as a camper at River Oaks Retreat and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child while using the Blob and/ or the zipline (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that my child may experience or incur in connection with their participation as a camper at River Oaks Retreat. On my behalf, and on behalf of my child. I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge and hold harmless River Oaks Retreat, its employees, agents and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.

     

    Hold Harmless

    I hereby release and hold harmless River Oaks Retreat Center and SC District Assemblies of God, their officers and employers, and agents, any personal injuries my student or my family may sustain as a result of participation in the activities at River Oak Retreat Center. This includes, but is not limited to, both on- and off- premise activities.
    Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and Covid 19. I hereby agree to assume all risk of injury, illness, or loss that may arise as a result of participating in the activities at River Oaks Retreat Center and further agree to hold River Oaks Retreat Center and SC District Assemblies of God and/or its agents, harmless for any injury, illness or loss that arises as a direct or indirect result of any act or omission of any third party.

  • Medical Information

  • All medications must be in original container and clearly labeled: patient’s name, physician’s name, name of medication, instructions. DO NOT SEND OVER-THE-COUNTER Medications (i.e. Tylenol or Advil) as the nurse has these on hand. Exception: Claritin with Doctor’s note and instructions. The following over the counter medications will be available in brand name or generic name and age appropriate dosing and form, i.e. liquid or tablets and will be given according to label dosing guidelines: Acetominophen (Tylenol), Ibuprophen (Advil), Benadryl, Sudafed, Mylanta, Tums, Immodium, Auri-Dri, Neosporin, Calamine Lotion, Hydrocortisone Cream, Robitussin, Cough Drops, and any other over the counter medication deemed necessary. If your child takes another OTC medication on a regular basis, please send that with a doctor’s note for administration at camp.
