This event is open to K-8th grade Deaf/HH students in Iowa.

Please note: Teachers/Schools/Districts are responsible for:
- Your own students' medical needs (medicine, emergency contacts, etc.)
- Lunches
- Transportation to/from this event.
- Designated adults/staff should plan on accompanying their student(s) to this event.
This is a day just for students in Iowa who are deaf or hard of hearing, featuring interpreters and deaf educators collaborating with the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden staff to offer students full access to educational activities. This free event is for kindergarten through eighth grade students. Participants will meet and interact with peers from other schools, in addition to exploring the unique ecosystem of a tropical rainforest, interacting with rainforest products, and learning about the variety of plants!
EVENT SCHEDULE (subject to change)
- 10:00 - 10:15 - Arrivals / Check In / Opening Remarks
- 10:15 - 11:15 - Group Activity Rotations
- 11:15 - 11:45 - Lunch
- 11:45 - 12:45 - Group Activity Rotations
- 12:45 - 1:00 - Closing / Group Photo / Departures
** Students will be grouped based on age/grade level.**
