  • Welcome to Chancel Drama Week 2026

    Jesus was a storyteller. A quick glance at the gospels reveals Him constantly regaling the crowds with tales designed to teach, amuse, puzzle, and even irritate. And two thousand years later, His words are still fresh – the double meanings and surprise endings of the stories challenge and enlighten us.

    In this musical, “Once Upon a Parable,” a group of energetic storytellers try to capture the humor and contemporary flavor of the parables – and use them to retell the Jesus story itself. This musical is a Nassau favorite and is sure to be a summer highlight for your child!

    Chancel Drama week will include music rehearsal, staging, crafting, snacks, and a mission service project! Everyone is cast.

    Grade 3 - Grade 12
    Monday - Thursday (12:30-4:30 pm);
    Friday, including dinner & dress rehearsal (12:30-8:30 pm);
    Sunday arrive at 9 am for 10 am worship service

    $50/child, scholarships available

    If your child would like to be considered for a role with a solo or speaking part, an audition is required.

      I give permission for my child/children to participate in Chancel Drama Week at Nassau Presbyterian Church.  In case of emergency, I understand that every effort will be made to contact the parents, guardians, or alternate contact of the registered child.  In the event that I cannot be reached, I give permission to the physician selected by Nassau Presbyterian Church to hospitalize, secure proper treatment for, and to order anesthesia or surgery for my child.  I understand that I am financially responsible for any expense for medical care or transportation incurred on my child’s behalf.  I hereby release Nassau Presbyterian Church, its employees, and volunteers from any responsibility for injuries or illness occurring as a result of or coincidental to my child’s participation in these programs.
