Speaker Proposal - 7th Annual Resiliency Conference
Thank you for your interest in presenting at the seventh annual Resiliency Conference, hosted by Fairbanks Wellness Coalition!

The theme this year is Woven in Wellness: Coming Together for Collective Impact

We're looking for speakers to present to our full conference and/or workshop leaders to host smaller, more focused workshops. Proposals should touch on one of the following topics:
- resilience in our selves and our systems
- alignment & action
- breaking down siloes
- community over competition
Audience
Most of the audience will have a personal and/or professional interest in wellness, prevention, and public health. This includes coalition members, prevention specialists, law enforcement, educators, people in recovery, youth, and more. Speaker and/or workshop proposals that are relevant to a cross-section of the audience are more likely to be selected.

Selection Criteria
Speakers and workshop presenters will be selected by our Resiliency Conference workgroup. Selections will be based on the following criteria:
- The overall quality of the proposal
- Focused and well-defined topic
- Relevance to the theme: resilience in ourselves and systems, alignment & action, breaking down siloes, community over competition
- Relevance to FWC's mission of promoting wellness in the Interior through primary prevention and advocacy: suicide prevention, shared risk and protective factors, ACEs/PCEs, substance use prevention, etc.
- Practical application of the material
- Presentation skill(s) and experience of the proposed speaker(s)
Commercial/Promotional Presentations
Presenters/speakers may NOT sell, raffle, or otherwise promote a product, service, or organization in which they have a financial interest.

Compensation

FWC values local experts, community leaders, and dynamic presenters. That's why we're offering compensation for all of our speakers. Presentations made in the main hall will receive $400 and workshops will receive $250. Payments will be made to the main presenter unless other arrangements are made. Travel funds are not available in most cases but exceptions may be made. If you aren't local to Fairbanks, please email info@fairbankswellness.org.

To be effective and create interest, it should provide a brief, clear, and concise reflection of your presentation’s content. The abstract should only be one paragraph of between 150 to 250 words in length.*
Learning Objective*
Learning outcomes or objectives are statements that specify what learners will know or be able to do as a result of attending the session. Outcomes are usually expressed as knowledge, skills, or attitudes. They help to: focus on learner's behavior that is to be changed; serve as guidelines for content, instruction, and evaluation; identify specifically what should be learned; and convey to learners exactly what is to be accomplished. Since the learner's performance should be observable and measurable, the verb chosen for each outcome statement should be an action verb which results in overt behavior that can be observed and measured. Speaker Agreement

Speaker applications will be reviewed and chosen speakers will be contacted in early April 2026. Each speaker session will receive compensation of $400 and workshop presenters will receive compensation of $250. If your proposed session is selected, the lead presenter will be required to sign a Speaker Agreement that includes the following general information:

I understand the following:
- FWC has the right to modify content, including session titles and session descriptions, for marketing purposes.
- I may use the handout materials, presentation, visual aids and any other material prepared by me for the above mentioned presentation in any manner I desire, including publication.
- Papers and illustrations will not be returned to me by FWC.
In consideration of my acceptance to speak, I hereby grant to FWC the right to:
- Record, copy, and transcribe my presentation, including oral, written, and visual materials and to compile my presentation with other presentations as part of the event educational materials.
- Redistribute my presentation and handout materials in any form or format including paper and electronic formats to any audience.
- Take still photographs during my presentation that may be used for FWC publicity or publications in any form or format including paper and electronic formats.
This release applies only to my presentation and materials and in no way limits my own use of my own materials. Any copyright of my presentation and materials shall continue to be my property or that of any other party. My presentation will not infringe any copyright or include any material that is libelous, scandalous, or an invasion of privacy.
