Speaker Proposals for Saturday October 17th, 2026
  • Speaker Proposals for Saturday October 17th, 2026

  • The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking session proposals for our 6th annual Rocky Mountain Mind and Brain and Education conference on Saturday, October 17th! This event brings educators together for a dynamic day of evidence-informed learning. And we are looking for you!

    Here are our guidelines:

We are looking for speakers who can deliver 75-minute sessions that further the aim of building bridges between research and practice in schools and classrooms. We welcome submissions from anyone with something to say about the field of evidence in education -- ideas that are:

    1. Interesting
    2. Useful
    3. Important
    4. Informed by strong evidence

We welcome submissions from speakers from many areas of education: teachers, academics, policy makers, researchers...anyone who can deliver something that meets the criteria above.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science welcomes submissions from all people regardless of ethnicity, sexuality, or gender. We particularly welcome submissions from under-represented individuals or groups, considering all such submissions equally.

We ask that all speakers be prepared to discuss the evidence underlying their presentations, should audience members inquire. How do you know what you claim? We understand that definitions of “evidence” will vary depending on the topic, but we do not solicit sessions based solely on personal opinion without sufficient support or substantiation.

All submissions are reviewed by the Museum’s education team leaders based on how they fit into the shape and content of the day, how they complement other sessions, and their overall suitability for the day’s program. Acceptance to present is at our discretion and based on the criteria outlined above. We aim to keep costs low for all attendees, acknowledging the financial limitations many educators may face. While we are currently unable to provide stipends for facilitation or travel support, we have reserved a block of hotel rooms at a discounted rate. Speakers do not need to purchase a ticket and are welcome to bring one guest free of charge.

The Museum is dedicated to supporting early childhood educators, and this year we aim to develop the first ever ECE track at this conference! Proposals centered on early childhood are strongly encouraged.

Proposal submissions will be accepted through June 12, 2026. Accepted speakers will be notified no later than July 10, 2026. Please direct any general/logistical questions about this event to Tamera Sakotas at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science at Tamera.Sakotas@dmns.org.

Thank you for the important work you do! We can’t wait to read your inspired ideas!
