CARTA Scholarship Application Form

2026-2027 Application Information

CARTA (Central Alaska Retired Teachers Association) awards up to three $2,500 scholarships each spring to individuals who have been accepted by or enrolled in undergraduate or graduate specialized accredited programs leading to Type A (Classroom Teaching), Type B (School Administration), or Type C (Special Services) licensure at APU, UAA, UAF, or UAS. Eligible students must be from the Municipality of Anchorage, Mat-Su Borough, Kenai Peninsula Borough, or Kodiak Borough and intending to teach or lead in Alaska public schools. *A very strong preference will be given to students who will be within six (6) semesters of the completion of certification requirements and to those planning to teach in Alaska.
