Topic: Built Tough, Not Untouchable: Understanding Mental Health in Construction
Construction workers face high mental-health risks, but often postpone seeking help.
Dr. Kane’s presentation reframes mental health as education and prevention, clarifies the difference between mental health and illness, and explains how stress and trauma impact brain function and job-site safety. Attendees learn how common trauma responses—like anger or withdrawal—manifest in construction and are linked to brain patterns, not personal shortcomings.
The session covers five key areas of positive mental health and practical steps for resilience, focusing on early detection, stress management, and creating safer, healthier workplaces.
Please RSVP by March 27th.
