Using the OTPF-4 to define and guide school practice: health, well-being, and participation; what our students need.
About the Speaker:
Jennifer’s interest in school-based practice began with studying evidence-based practices in sensory integration and processing. This work included a Master’s paper on training paraprofessionals, grant work on incorporating regulation tools in general education, and work with Diana Henry on piloting Quick Tips. More recently, after obtaining an OTD from St. Catherine University, her interests have included regulation and mental health practices in school settings. This work has led her to co-teaching SEL and advocating for the use of occupations and a broader view of occupational therapy in schools. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, being with family and friends, reading, and playing with my dogs.Paula Stommes. a longtime pediatric occupational therapist and assistive technology professional who in the last 3 years obtained her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from St. Catherine University, and works at Hopkins School District in Hopkins, MN as well as at an outpatient clinic.
