Annual Symposium Scholarship: Rising Star Application
The goal of the Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group (DSMIG-USA) Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance for recipients to attend the DSMIG-USA Annual Symposium. The number of scholarships awarded each year will depend on available funding. The 2026 conference will take place from July 23-25, 2026 in Orlando, Florida at the Hilton Signia. Any application for the Rising Star Scholarship is automatically considered for the Financial Need Scholarship as well. Scholarship applications are due on March 29, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

RISING STAR SCHOLARSHIP Essay: How do you plan to apply what you learn at the DSMIG-USA symposium to your studies, research, or professional career over the next five years related to the care of individuals with Down syndrome.
Do not include your name on your essay page(s) as this will disqualify your essay. Essays will be judged based on the following criteria: originality, how you will apply what you learn, history of involvement/collaboration with Down syndrome organizations, and plan to disseminate work within the DS community. Limit: 500 words.
