  • Deadline:

    • The completed application, 500-word Essay, and Commitment Form must be submitted no later than Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

    Criteria: 

    • Applicant must currently work in the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry and be an employee of an MSSA member company.
    • Applicant must be aged 21 through 40 at the time of application.
    • Applicant's member company must be current on dues and have a zero balance on invoiced expenses.
    • Only 1 applicant per company per year.
    • Applications must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

  • Attach a 500-word essay incorporating three of the five topics below:

    1. What do I hope to gain from this experience?
    2. What are my best personal assets and how will I implement them to improve our industry?
    3. What leadership experience have I had and why am I qualified for this program?
    4. What leader (coach, teacher, parent, sibling, friend, coworker, manager, author, historical figure, etc) has had the greatest influence on my life and how?
    5. How long have I been involved in MSSA and how has this influenced my career path?

    1. Leadership Training Session 1 at SignConnexion 2026 on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in Huntsville, AL (Includes free conference registration)

    2. Acceptance and Recognition at SignConnexion 2026 Awards Dinner on Friday, July 24, 2026, in Huntsville, AL

    3. Leadership Training Session 2 at Engage 2026 on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in Knoxville, TN (Includes free conference registration + two nights' hotel expenses)

    4. Attend bi-weekly virtual meetings to work on a group task set forth by the MSSA Board of Directors and Leadership Development Committee

    5. Attend monthly, virtual 30-minute to 1-hour Elite Educator trainings throughout the year.

    6. Leadership Training Session 3 at Idea Exchange 2027 (Includes free conference registration + two nights hotel expenses) – Location and Date TBD (typically late February/early March)

    7. Group project proposal and presentation to the MSSA Board of Directors during Idea Exchange 2027 Location/Date TBD

    8. Completion and Recognition at SignConnexion 2027 Awards Dinner on Friday, July 23, 2027, in Birmingham, AL

    9. Your attendance is required for the entirety of each conference. Full participation ensures the best experience for all elite and contributes to the event's success. If unforeseen circumstances require you to miss a part of the event, please inform MSSA staff as soon as you become aware.

    MSSA Elite Class applicants will be notified no later than Friday, April 24, 2026, of their selection status. Selection of the MSSA Elite Class is conducted by the Leadership Development Committee using an anonymous scoring system.
