    Intern with Kamin Science Center to gain hands-on experience and professional learning. Limited internships and other experiential learning opportunities are available with Kamin Science Center. Internships are posted throughout the year as they become available.

    Below is a link to available internships and other paid experiential opportunities coordinated by the Volunteer & Internship Office at Kamin Science Center. Before applying, review the list of available internship opportunities and their respective role descriptions.

    Use this application to submit your candidacy package. Applicants may select up to two (2) opportunities as their first and second choices for placement.

    To qualify for internship selection, candidates must submit a full application package. Submissions must include the following:

    • A completed internship application and consent agreement (this form)
    • A resume or CV
    • A letter of interest or personal statement detailing how this experiential opportunity will further yoru personal career goals, academic studies, and professional development.
    • An optional letter of recommendation from an advisory, faculty, previous employer, coach, mentor, or other professional reference

    Please note that some internships may require addtional materials, such as a writing sample. Check the role description for any additional application requirements.

    If listed as a Work-Study opportunity, applicants must qualify for the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program through FAFSA and their academic institution’s financial aid office. Please include proof of work-study award eligibility with application materials. 

    Check back regularly as opportunities change and new positions are posted throughout the year.

    Internship opportunties vary throughout the year as well as every semester and are based on available projects and supervisors. Be sure to describe the specific interests and skills that might make you a good candidate for the kind of project or department to which you apply.

  • I understand that as an intern I am not entitled to monetary compensation for any duties I perform beyond my stipend payments per my acceptance letter and internship registration, and I am not entitled to worker’s compensation or group benefits in the event of injury. (Work-study students will be paid directly by their university.) 

    The Kamin Science Center Volunteer & Internship Program reserves the right to an evaluation sometime after placement and the right to terminate services should responsibilities not be fulfilled satisfactorily.

    In accordance with Pennsylvania Act 153, I understand and agree that a criminal background check is a condition of my volunteer/intern service. Per the direction of Volunteer & Internship Office's official registration process, I will complete the required clearances at my own expense. (participants under 18 years of age must provide consent from a parent or legal gaurdian before accepting a volunteer or intern assignment. Parental or guardian approval is required for criminal background checks of minors.)
