VetPartners believes that safety, including psychological safety, is an integral part of our business and must be a crucial element in everything we do. Safe practice must be inherent in our systems, our operating procedures, and most importantly in the way we think. It is VetPartners commitment that all our workplaces will provide and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for our Team Members, Partners and Customers by striving towards preventing injury and illness in all our endeavours. This commitment applies to all business operations and functions, including those situations where workers are required to work off-site. All levels of Managers, Team Members and Partners are accountable for the delivery of the highest level of safety performance. Managers and Leaders in particular, have specific responsibility for ensuring that a safety and quality culture permeates from the top, through all levels of the organisation. We are committed to ensuring we comply with all applicable Occupational (Work) Health and Safety Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice and [Australian OR New Zealand] Standards. Our commitment will be achieved by implementing a Safety and Workers Compensation Strategy, identifying measurable objectives and targets to ensure we achieve compliance with all our obligations under the above Acts and Regulations and we continue to support and achieve continued improvement eliminating work-related injury and illness as far as reasonably practicable and supporting a psychologically healthy and safe work environment. A psychologically safe workplace is one that takes a proactive and preventative approach to mental health, where risk factors are identified, and reasonably practicable action is taken to minimise their potential negative impact on an individual's mental health. It is also one where protective and resilience factors are fostered and maximised and there is a focus on ensuring good workplace outcomes for Team Members at risk of mental illness. We are committed to working towards a healthy organisation, which places high value on both physical and mental health and wellbeing. VetPartners is committed to continually striving for, and achieving, enhanced safety outcomes. To do so, it is imperative that we learn from mistakes, strive to reduce instances of human error, and to develop better systems. To assure this outcome, a non-reprisal policy is followed. Non-reprisal means that no disciplinary action will be taken against any worker who reports an incident or occurrence involving human error, and who openly participates in the investigation and subsequent development of error prevention strategies. Naturally, this does not apply to people who have acted in a reckless manner or who have acted intentionally to circumvent procedures. VP will provide and maintain as far as reasonably practicable: A safe working environment, safe systems of work and substances that are safe and operational Information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably necessary to ensure that each Employee and Participant is safe from injury and risks to health A positive and supportive environment and culture that protects from psychological injury, a commitment to eliminating or minimising risks to safety and psychological health
