About this group:

This group is for residents of Takoma Park MD, Takoma DC, and Silver Spring.

The purpose of this group is for neighbors to connect and communicate around efforts to support and strengthen our community.

I am looking for:* This field is required.

A space where I can stay informed, learn about trainings, engage in public community-building spaces, and/or fundraising for impacted communities (roughly 15 questions).

A chance to participate in a more direct way (even 1-2 hours a week can make a huge difference!). This could involve mutual aid, community monitoring, safe school passage, and more. This requires providing more info and going through a vetting process (roughly 30 questions).

This group is only for residents of Silver Spring, Takoma/Takoma Park (MD and DC sides) and surrounding areas.

The purpose of this group is for neighbors to connect and communicate around efforts to support and strengthen our community.

Journalists in their official capacity and any police or federal agents will not be admitted.

What you can do:

We encourage everyone to take part in as many bystander trainings and cop-watch trainings as you can to better understand how you can show up for our at-risk community members while also keeping yourself safe—and to PRACTICE!

We are partnered with MoCo IRC and recommend their trainings, which they are aiming to offer weekly online. Trainings are also available regularly through Free DC and Harriet's Wildest Dreams.
