    WELCOME, Class of 2030 Spartans! We are excited to have you join the Spartan Family!!! Carefully complete your electronic Subject Selection with the help of a counselor or parent/guardian by no later than March 15, 2026. Please note that accepted out-of-area magnet students will have additional time since they do not receive their magnet acceptance until March 15, 2026. Administration reserves the right to select courses for any student who fails to submit their subject selection by the due date. Course schedule will be prioritized in the following order: core classes, magnet classes, AP and DE classes, classes based on course progression (level 1, 2, 3, and 4), and student selected elective choices.

  • CORE CLASSES

    ENGLISH, MATH, SCIENCE, and SOCIAL STUDIES
  • Dual Enrollment Technical College Program

    The ONLY Dual Enrollment Technical College programs offered to 9th graders are George T. Baker Aviation programs (Aviation Assembly Technician, Aircraft Maintenance Technician, and Avionics) and the Medical Assisting program at Robert Morgan Technical College. All the dual enrollment programs offered are listed in the picture below with the targeted grade level(s) for each program.

  • Baker Aviation Program - This program takes up 4 periods on your schedule (the last two peiods each day). Students in this program take a school bus to either the Miami Sunset Baker Aviation campus or the main Baker Aviation Campus at 10:30 AM and are brought back to the school or a bus stop by their home in the afternoon.

    • First two years of program - Classes are located at Miami Sunset Baker Aviation Campus. 
    • Last two years of program - Classes are located the the main Baker Aviation Campus. 

    Medical Assisting Program - This program takes up 1-2 periods on your schedule. The classes for this program will be offered at Miami Southridge. Students will not be transported to Robert Morgan Technical College to take the classes.

  • ELECTIVES

    List your elective choices in order of preference (1 - 6). Elective offerings below are not guaranteed. Electives that are offered next year are dependent on the number of student requests, teacher availability, and administrative discretion.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT EVERY EFFORT IS MADE TO ENROLL STUDENTS WITH THE CLASSES HE/SHE SELECTED. HOWEVER THERE ARE TIMES, THAT DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS, THE COURSE SELECTED MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE. FURTHERMORE, IF YOU SELECT AN ELECTIVE DURING SUBJECT SELECTION YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR MIND THE UPCOMING YEAR.

    DO NOT SELECT THE SAME ELECTIVE MULTIPLE TIMES.

    FLVS CLASSES - These classes will be on your schedule. You will take this course during the school day with a supervising Southridge teacher, but the course will be taught by an FLVS teacher and be fully online. 

    If you applied and were accepted to one of our Magnet Programs, your Magnet Electives will automatically be placed into your schedule. You must still choose additonal electives to complete your schedule.

    If you are interested in learning more about taking additional honors, advanced placement (AP), and dual-enrollment (DE) courses to strengthen your high school transcript for the college application process during 12th grade, please select "YES" below.
  • SPORTS & PERFORMANCE TEAM INTEREST

    Are you interested in joining an athletic/sport team, dance team, cheerleading, marching band, or the drum line? Please mark all you are interested in below so we can share your information with the coaches and contact you concerning any tryouts, practice schedules, and free athletic physical events.
