Participation Policy: To maintain the cultural and celebratory focus of the French Festival, we do not accept applications from political candidates, parties, or religious organizations.
Candy Distribution: For the safety of our spectators—especially children—candy and promotional items must be handed out by walkers alongside your entry. Throwing items from vehicles or floats is strictly prohibited.

Agreement for Participation in the Cape Vincent French Festival Parade

By submitting this application, the undersigned individual or authorized representative of the participating organization (hereinafter referred to as the "Participant") acknowledges and agrees to the following terms:

1. Risk Acknowledgment
The Participant understands that participating in a parade involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, those associated with moving vehicles, large crowds, weather conditions, and proximity to animals or machinery. The Participant voluntarily assumes all risks of loss, damage, or injury that may be sustained while participating in the Cape Vincent French Festival.

2. Release and Hold Harmless
The Participant hereby releases, waives, discharges, and covenants not to sue the Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Cape Vincent, the French Festival Committee, their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents (collectively referred to as "Releasees") from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the Participant or to any property belonging to the Participant while participating in such activity.

3. Compliance with Safety Rules
The Participant agrees to abide by all parade rules and regulations, including:

The strict prohibition of political or religious campaigning or affiliation.
The requirement that candy and promotional items must be handed to spectators at the curb and never thrown from a vehicle or float.
The requirement that all motorized vehicles be operated by a licensed and insured driver.
The instruction to follow all directions provided by parade marshals and local law enforcement.
4. Indemnification
The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold the Releasees harmless from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorney fees, that may be incurred due to the Participant’s involvement in the parade, whether caused by the negligence of Releasees or otherwise.

5. Media Release
The Participant grants the Cape Vincent Chamber of Commerce permission to use any photographs, motion pictures, or recordings of the parade for any legitimate promotional purpose.

Acknowledgment of Understanding: I have read this waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing the agreement freely and voluntarily and intend my signature (or electronic submission) to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.

The Participant acknowledges that the act of electronically submitting this application constitutes a formal signature and full legal acceptance of all terms, conditions, and waivers listed herein. No further physical signature is required to make this agreement binding.
