The 2026 UPLIFT scholarship application was established by the Lifting While We Climb Charitable Trust to support and empower students of Black/African descent pursuing higher education, this scholarship fund aims to foster academic excellence, leadership, and personal growth.
This year, we will be awarding multiple scholarships ranging between $1,000 to $3,000.
Before you complete the application, please read the following scholarship criteria:
1) Applicant must be of Black/African descent who is matriculated in an undergraduate or graduate accounting, finance or business program for the Fall 2026 semester/trimester.
2) Applicant must attend a college or university in New York State.
3) Academic achievement is a criterion in the decision for the scholarship. Applicant must have attained at least a cumulative 3.0 Grade Point Average.
4) Applicant must have completed at least 3 credit hours of business credits.
5) Submit a short video that should be no more than two(2) minutes. Applicant's video should specifically discuss career objectives, leadership abilities, community activities and any extracurricular activities while attending college.
6) Include a copy of an unofficial college transcript with the application, however, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to request an official copy issued to the Fund directly by the College you attend. (in PDF format)
7) Include a copy of applicant's current resume. (in PDF format)
8) All of the above requested information must be provided along with the completed application in order to be considered. The application must be completed in its entirety.
9) The application and all supporting materials must be submitted by July 4, 2026.
