Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Alpha Gamma Eta Omega Chapter serves Orange County, New York and plans to award two (2) $1,000 scholarships and two (2) $500 scholarships to Middletown High School and Newburgh Free Academy seniors. The scholarship may not be renewed or postponed. 

 

Eligibility & Application Requirements   

• To be eligible for the Alpha Gamma Eta Omega Chapter Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the requirements.   
• Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered for evaluation.  
• Must be a graduating senior attending Middletown High School or Newburgh Free Academy.   
• Must use funds for undergraduate studies or vocational school.
• Must have a cumulative overall grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or above.
• Awardees will be required to submit a Letter of Matriculation or Verfication of Enrollment prior to receiving the actual scholarship funds.

 

Application Reminders

• All online applications must be completed here in one session. You will not be able to save your information and come back later.  
• Every blank in the scholarship application must be completed.  
• Submit a recent photograph of yourself which needs to be uploaded in this online application.  
• Applicants must submit two (2) letters of recommendation (recommenders cannot be related to the applicants.)
• The letters of recommendation must be from a current/former teacher, guidance counselor, principal, clergy member and/or community member who knows the academic capabilities of the applicant and/or their contributions to the community. 
• All applications must include an Official high school transcript which will need to be uploaded with your application. 
• Completed application and supporting materials are due by April 10, 2026, at 5:00pm. 

 

Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Announcement of the awards will be made by June 3, 2026.
